This is a Community Builder plugin cum Joomla component that allows your users to have their own profile URLs, eg www.domain.com/hello_world. For those who already know about the profile URL functionality of CB, this plugin is quite different. - Allows users to edit their profile URL (!!!) - Allows admin to ban certain names to be used - Works for Windows IIS users - Editing of profile URL by users is done in AJAX, so changes are made real time - Profile URL remains as the browser's URL (!!!) - No editing of htaccess required (!!!) - Works with 3rd party SEF (!!!) - Requires sh404SEF (may work on other 3rd party SEF component - untested) - NEW! Please donate ! (donation module at the bottom of frontpage) How It Works ============ The all new Profile URL functions hand-in-hand with sh404SEF. How it works is rather straightforward: - Make sure you have sh404SEF installed and configured properly. You have to use htaccess if possible. - Install, publish (as public) and configure the Profile URL CB plugin. - Whenever a user edits his profile name, the redirection link that pointed to his previous profile url is deleted, and a new one is created to point to his new profile url. - The modified sh404SEF plugin for CB will automatically create all Profile URLs on the fly. Requirements: CB 1.2 Mootools (already part of Joomla 1.5.*. If you're using Joomla 1.0.*, you will need to set up mootools first)
