ReReplacer! opens up your Joomla site to thousands of new possibilities! Now you can replace whatever you want in your entire site. It can work on the entire output of your site, so you can also do replacements in things like the meta tags. REGULAR EXPRESSIONS: You have the ability to use powerful regular expressions to search and replace. This opens up a endless possibilities, You can do virtually everything with ReReplacer! EXAMPLES: ReReplacer! comes with a couple of ready to use examples. You can change these to your liking and add as many new items as you want. Some idea's where you can use ReReplacer! for: ▪ Filter bad words on your site (is added as example). ▪ Replace smiley tags by images (is added as example). ▪ Temporarily hide text from your website, without actually removing it (is added as example). ▪ Remove redundant whitespace from your code, making your website load faster (is added as example). ▪ Use abbreviations in your content and replace them with the full text (J! becomes Joomla!). ▪ Quickly place whole blocks of text by only typing one word. Like you can use [stats] and replace it with a piece of Google Statistics code. Or [footer] to put a fixed bit of text under articles. You can change the replacement in one place (in ReReplacer!) and your whole website is updated! ▪ Create your own custom tags. ▪ Tweak the output of Joomla! without changing the core files. ▪ etc... HANDLE WITH CARE! Because you can replace/remove all kinds of things, you can potentially break your site. It is not wise replacing words like 'html', 'body' or (parts of) words that are used in inline scripts. However, the cool thing is: all replacements are not permanent. So when you turn off the plugin or remove the replacement, your website is back to the original state. Also, there are some nifty features enabling you to replace stuff without replacing in fragile areas like in tags and outside the html body. INSTALLING / UPDATING: The ReReplacer! package installs both the component and plugin. The plugin will be published after install, so you won't have to do that by hand. If you want to update, you can uninstall the current version and install the new version. All your ReReplacer! items will remain in the database and will therefore not be lost.
