You when an install goes wrong and you end up with a directory you don't need and you can not delete it using conventional methods. THIS SOLVES YOUR PROBLEMS. An excellent tool.

This is truly an excellent extension works very simply and easy to install and use.
To the reviewer who wrote "have a site for an advertising agency, I installed this product in hoping that it would give ny clients the ability to upload videos to the site...NOPE cant upload anything over 2m in size. I can't even hand code the file size limits and I am a professional php developer!
they need to fix the filesize max limits to be adjustable for the super admin"
Wow you REALLY cant be a PROFESSIONAL PHP developer if you don't know your own php configuration file is where this limit is stored. Really its the SERVER php.ini config file that needs changing if you want to upload larger files, this is a PHP limitation NOT a Joomla or joomlaXplorer limitation. Any "Professional" PHP developer should know this!! It's a BASIC requirement for calling themselves a professional.

First job setting up a new site is to install joomlaXplorer. Gives you control over all your files and directories, and allows you to upload any customised files.
Can't understand why anyone wouldn't install it straight away!

they need to fix the filesize max limits to be adjustable for the super admin Owner's reply: The maximum filesize and maximum post size can only be changed in the php.ini or using .htaccess. These settings can't be changed by joomlaXplorer. See http://de.php.net/manual/de/function.ini-set.php#22264.

This is the first component I install on all of my Joomla sites, I can't think of a better component - definitely the most useful tool out of all the components

After I create a Joomla install. The first component I add is JoomlaXplorer - 'nuf said.
Excellent component!
My only want is in the editor. I want the ability to find a text string, or goto a line, typical editor commands.

Good Stuff, But a Few Notes by webmonarch, January 22, 2007

Very good, as most have stated. However, I want to point out that despite what a previous reviewer said you can use the 1.5 version of joomlaXplorer even with a 4.x version of PHP. I was able to do this without any problem with a PHP version of 4.3.

Cant run Joomla without this by patrickegan, January 15, 2007

The VERY FIRST thing I do when installing a new joomla site after deleting my installation directory is to install this component. Its just that good

One of the best and most useful Joomla Components by tomekcees, January 9, 2007

It's, in my opinion and from my practice, one of the best and most useful components written for Joomla, sometimes a life-saving component. I haven't noticed any bug yet in joomlaXplorer 1.5.1 and I've been using it for about 2-3 months now (starting from v. 1.5). Thus I can recommend it to anyone, who needs a web-application based file manager.
