The "Tabs & Slides In Content Items" Plugin -now in version 2.3- gives you the ability to easily add content tabs and/or content slides within standard Joomla! content items (articles). The "tabs" can emulate a multi-page structure, while the "slides" can emulate an accordion-like structure, inside a single page!

So, no need for your visitors to scroll through a large page or navigate between pages to read a "big" article! Plus you can make:
- Nice "specifications" page layout, for product showcase, using the "tabs".
- Nice and easy FAQ pages using the "slides". The user clicks on each "slide" and the answer slides down!

It is very easy to add "tabs" and/or "slides" in your new content items or convert existing ones to a "tabbed" or "slided" layout! Read carefully the usage instructions already included inside the plugin and spice up your content once and for all!

The plugin is also extremely easy to style to your own needs, using pure CSS. All you need to do is edit the single edit CSS file included with the plugin (read documentation for more).

Changes include:
- The plugin works smoothly with our "Tabs & Slides" module. You can have both on your site with no issues at all! The even have common CSS/JS files, so all required code is included only once (thus making your website load faster).
- Optimized javascript code for faster loading on all browsers. Checked on Firefox, IE, Safari (Win) and Opera.
- No conflicting with JoomlaWorks "Frontpage Slideshow" component/module anymore.
- Cleaned up CSS code. No weird bullets will show up beside the tabs anymore in some templates (due to CSS overrides)!
- Fixed partially the issue with CSS/JS files not being loaded due to a com_frontpage/cache bug on Joomla! 1.0.x.

Previous users should just uninstall any old version and install the new one. Their tabs or slides will remain intact! ;)

Just implemented this on a site for the purpose of making for a cleaner look on a very long content page. This was exactly what I needed. Tried both tabs and slides and both worked great. Ended up using the slides. Made some CSS changes and was ready to go! Thanks!

I was looking for an easy-to-implement 'tab' system; tried another but couldn't get past first base. Figured that I would try 'Tabs & Slides' and it is EXACTLY what I needed! And the Slides were a bonus! Now I can nest Slides inside of Tabs or vise versa or any combination of the two. Makes for tremendous flexibility of any content. A snap to install and to use! Too cool! Too easy! And works just fine in IE 6! :) Highly recommended!

Hi there,

this is very simple and useful extension and I'm sure I'll install it on all my Joomla! sites.

The only problem I've found, when both module and mambot installed together:
When I changed CSS for module, this hasn't been used in action as the mambot's CSS overchange the module's one. But I've forced module styling making flags more specific and changing module's CSS suffix.

Anyway, thanks for this perfect work.

Tabs & Slides (in content items) Plugin by yaani, August 31, 2007

Really easy to install, configure & add to content items. I used it in a FAQ page. I had separate Tabs for the different model FAQs & put the FAQs for each model on the appropriate Tab. The FAQs were inserted as Slides in the Tabs. A very good way to organize content on a single page without having to scroll through long pages of text.
An excellent extension, thanks so much!

The Tabs solved a big problem for me - and did so quickly, and simply. Bravo to Joomlaworks for a simple plugin that works as it says it will! (Mac Firefox and Safari, PC Firefox and MSIE)

Very useful, I use it in event content in JCal to add more infos to event page in a small space. I really love the possibility to insert in each tab any kind of content, like a jumi mos code or a video embedded through allvideos plugin. Just fantastic and very stylish looking. I have it in my "core" mambots!

great, very usefull and easy to use!

I see it have a problem with firefox, infact in the page appears the same tabs two time, like this:

firstnametabs | second Name Tabs | Third Name Tabs

firstnametabs | second Name Tabs | Third Name Tabs

with IE all it's normal!

Hi, unfortunately the bot does not work for our template nor does the Simple Image Gallery Lightbox. We're using a very fine Joomlart Template . With another template at least the Simple Image does work fine (didn't test the slider there). The answer from the authors seem too easy to me (in case of the Simple Image): "The answer is simple: it's your template's fault. Revert to the default template of Joomla! to make sure." But we can't just change the template! What can we do?

This plugin is great...but when i used with mambot adsense it only show adsense on the first three tabs after the third tab it did not show any.

Never have I used a plug-in that's so simple to use. AWESOME!

It would be very nice if you noted in the Troubleshooting section that two tabs can't have the same name, even if they're nested inside different slides; they won't show up in one of the slides AT ALL, even though they show up in the HTML. I spent 2 hours rewriting HTML, removing spaces, adding breaks, removing breaks, even creating a fresh content item, and finally figured it out. It may be intuitive to some, but not to the average user.
