This is a great extensions. It is really good that it imports akobook comments. I like the built in captcha as well.

It will fit your needs perfectly UNTIL you need to change something in the code. The source code of this component is a mess and hacking it is really painful.

This is one of the good guestbook i ever had.
But i have a problem in the filter.

I try to use it in arabic and i test the filter word in arabic. Not working the filter for arabic. the english are working but in arabic the word filter are not working

i usually dont take the time to write reviews but i wanted to thank you guys for creating such a great component.
as a joomla oser in Hebrew (Israel) i usua;;y have a hard time with translating and converting components to hebrew and write to left reading.
this one is the best! keep up the good work and make some more like this!

This, by far, is the best guestbook I've seen/used! Very easy to use, and visually appealing. I will definitely recommend this to my friends!

One Slight Request---In the next revision, would it be possible to allow back-end control of whether or not a poster's e-mail address is shown? Currently, if a poster accidentally checks the "Show E-mail" box, the only way to remove their e-mail from the public view is by editing the database. THANKS! =)

No problems, other than the broken security image which probably has something to do with the imagecreatetruecolor function. According to php.net "Depending on your PHP and GD versions this function is defined or not." I also read there that this function does not work for .gif images so that option in the easybook configuration area should probably not be available for us to select.

I just set the thing up without the spam protection for the time being and haven't seen any problems.

This is a great component, easy to install and user friendly.

Great solutions out of the box. I had no problem in installing and configuring it. The only thing which troubles many unhappy reviewers was a security image. So I have changed img.php file and commented out in line 139

//morph($tmp, 0, 0, 50, 50);

That made image more readable.
That's it. Nothing to complain.

I was looking for software what I can use on my web so people can leave testimonial feedbacks and this is what I was looking for. Perfect program. Only think is I will like to donate some money to you guys but I like to use pay pal and that will not let me to do it, but I will call pay pal and find out how I can donate.

After trying most of them, this is the bext guestbook extension for Joomla in my opinion. The look, the options. All spot on.

My only gripe is the module requires you to write CSS to make the layout reasonable and the default layout looks too simple. Maybe a better default layout.

I don't know CSS and an instruction simply telling me to define the values below did not help. There could be a more reasonable default or an example.

This is the best extension I have installed yet on my site. The installation went smoothly, including that of the English language, and it worked like a champ right out of the box. It looks really good, it works perfectly well.

After trying to modify a php parameter, I had a major crash - self-inflicted, I'm afraid, as I am new at all this. I wrote to the developer, described my problem. Within the hour, David presented me with a remedy which solved everything.

Easybook is great, the service is fantastic, I would recommend it to anyone !

I found an easy way to extend the 20 characters in the name field.
Go to your server database. Open i.e. php Myadmin and in the table easybook you can change the length of gbname to another value.

No-win situation with this one - if I disabled the security images, I got spammed to the eyeballs, and if I enabled it, people would complain that they couldn't post comments.

Biggest grievance: I uninstalled it over a month ago, and yet I'm still getting 15-20 hits a day for easybook-sign! The only hits I'm getting for Jambook are valid ones. So I bitterly regret ever having installed Easybook on my site in the first place if it's attracted the attention of so many Russian and Brazilian spammers/hackers!

Though the component is feature rich, it is buggy, support is none existence, posts in joomla.org forum are ignored, emails to developers go unanswered. If you are looking for a guestbook supported by developer(s) look elsewhere.
