Installed, configured, looking for instructions on how to make this component visible on frontend - instructional videos = nonexistent; no documentation that I can find on the website; contact doesn't work - waste of time for me.

Very Good! by denden, February 4, 2008

This is exactly what I was looking for. Though it doesn't have "all the features" you might need, this is VERY GOOD. I'm sure I'll be hacking away at this in no time, I like it, and will definately help in supporting my viewers! Thanks to the author!

not bad, but not good enough by goodman123, December 15, 2007

I like this component, but 2 things are lacking:
1. it should have an option to enable chat for registered users (that is, names should be registered user names, not just visitors),
2. when you hit 'enter', the message should be sent, but now you have to click 'send' to send a message.

Not a real chat - more a kind communication tool by kokolapin, June 15, 2007

Hello,
Just so people know, it is not really a chat room: only the administrator gets to have a nice looking chat box **in the backend** only. User can have access either to a message box, or a kind of automatically updated ""thread"" (kind of chat but not 1 to 1 like msn and such.
It is not bad software: it works great for what it has, but a bit disapointing for the chat thing. It is more something that you'd open after someone PM-ed you, but it is not a chat box.
A lot of interest is winded up because admin has to go to the backend to chat and/or to activate desactivate chat.
I have paid the soft for supporting the developpers (but forum is dead so i do not know if it is still developped (i regret a little).
What is missing:
The backend application should be accessible from front end and from all registered users).
Promising but not practical.

maybe im missing something, altho logged into joomla backend, how do i know if someone has sent me a message.
I want if someone sends me a message, cos they can see im online, for maybe the message box to appear on the screen with the message.
It seems i have to keep going in and out of live chat to see if there any messages.. is this right, or am i missing something

Ok, but conflicting with Template by rpatrayudha, March 23, 2007

I think it's a great module, however it needs a lot of improvement. One thing that very disappointed me is when the module scramble my template, and there is no documentation or setup for layout. I have no experience in php or css script.

very easy to install. works just like a small chat room. in the admin you can see what you wrote and what the visitor writes. on the live page, user sees what admin wrote and what they wrote. simple, basic, works great.
Thanks alot

Good start... by polipo, March 8, 2007

It's a nice start-up. Hope this will develop fast. I would like to have a pop-up to open or a sound (anything!)when the chat starts so to be alerted and answer the user. Easy to install.

Easy to install, use and edit! by tantepoes, November 20, 2006

Very nice program!
- easy to install
- easy to use
- easy to edit!
The sourcecode is easy to understand, so you can edit the chat program the way you want to.
It's not just a chatbox, it's a live help function in wich people (customers) can chat private with an employee.
It would be nice to have the option to let the employee to use it through the front-end, wich is not possible right now.

Operator needs interact from frontend by slugger, October 22, 2006
|
This is what I'm looking for, so, I think should be possible that operator interacts from frontend, after login.
This, because operator is not the site's administrator in a lot of cases, or simply because he/she does not have administrative rights. In addition, by this way could be various oparators attending more than one room, in example: tech support, sales support, post-sales support, etc.
Anyway, great component, congratulations.

Excellent Application by active_innovation, September 8, 2006
|
This is a excellent component and module. The features to come will most welcomed. It was an easy install for the application and there is simply no need for any instructions or guidlines for this application, it is just that simple.
The realtime update via ajax solution is what makes this feature superb, this application can only get better.

Very Nice by machadoug, September 6, 2006

This is a very nice start!
Can't wait for the next release with the DING and other features such as Canned Answers, language support and the available to chat attached to the component page.
Thanks for your great work

I expected a real chatbox, but it's not.
You get the possibility to leave a message and only the admin can read it.. So it's like a support system. Not really a "Live Chat" to call?

Great Start... by mediaultra, September 2, 2006

Good start guys, installed super easy and works..
Remember to go to the MODULE settings to turn on when your are ready to accept chats as the admin...
ALSO first things first...this thing needs to DING or something to let me know someone has started chatting...
thanks and great work..

Nice but basic by 5starstaple, September 1, 2006

This works fine and its really easy to install but it needs more configuration options such ability to make different chat rooms, change the welcome text, only allow chat for certain users if desired, print or save chat conversations etc, user name be automatically detected or whether they are a guest, leave a message for operator if chat offline, have operator id visible e.g. their username. I am sure there are more... I know its beta so I can't be too harsh. Waiting for more developments...
