Joomla Translation (JTrans Pro) Component

Give your site users to access your website content in up to THIRTEEN additional languages, automatically! This component utilizes online translation servers to deliver you these thirteen translations in seconds. Best part is, you do not even need to know these languages yourself!

The SEF URLs are indexable by search engines. This means increased traffic from even those countries that do not speak the language of your site, and increased revenue if you have revenue generation streams on your site, like AdSense!

Please do understand that the translations are dependent on the quality of language in your site in terms of grammar and spelling. Automatic translations by Google and Yahoo cannot be as accurate and flowery as human professional translation. But human translation is time consuming and very VERY expensive. If you were to get your average sized site human-translated into these thirteen languages, it would cost you at least tens of thousands of US dollars.

Hi All,

I've been running Linux for years, and got involved with Web Sites via Joomla. I thought that I'd do a Site, went looking for extensions, and found this one.

Cool Tool! And, great support with other issues. This guy is good!

This is a wonderful component for Joomla and I can’t see my site without it. It’s one of the core three components that I “have to” install. Not only is it under constant development, but MoonRay and crew over at Joomlaspan actually listen to the concerns of their users! Highly recommended.

This extension is a fanstastic piece of software. It is very simple to install and the support fro Joomlaspan is second to none. I have had some of my friends check the translations and they could understand the content of the articles with ease.
This is an asset to any website.

But reading the licence info put me off. If this was just a onetime fee with unlimited usage, I would be all for it. Seeing as I am a designer, if I did 100 sites in a year it would cost me 2500 at bulk price which is way too expensive! Why not carry the cost on to the client you may ask... Simple, the more you charge the client the more you pay in income tax. Since it is the customer buying the translator and not myself, I can’t claim it back on expenses. This means that this product does not make me any money. If anything, it costs me. The fact that the product dials home is also a concern of mine. The product must keep in contact with the makers to verify that it is “legal” (similar to Microsoft). These things are what put me off it. Maybe I would reconsider if they changed the licence.... Doubt that will happen though. They’re making too much money off one-time licences.

I need to tell for all folks I'm very happy with this extension. I'm using the beta version actually. I had some problems to get it work because it was needed to change some lines of code in the .htaccess. I've posted the htaccess file in the forum at joomlaspan and MoonRay made all necessary changes very quickly.
The extension works like a charm and the support at joomlaspan is great.

Superb product exceptional support!

I downloaded the beta which didnt work with the configs on my host settings (godaddy).

The support offered was faultless all questions were answered same day - most within minutes. Admin took a look at my site individualy to diagnose the issue and came back within the hour with the diagnosis.... I really cant say enough good things about the level of support!

And the beta uninstalled exactly as it should and the current stable version (V3 at ime of writing) installed perfectly !

This product relies as I understand it on googles translation engine and these are not perfect yet - but if you want a site to be accessable to an international audience and dont have a staff of native speaking translators to hand copy content this is a superb product.

In my opinion it was worth far more than the licence fee and I will certainly purchase again should i develope other sites!

This translation module is only for non professional websites. I have tried to make an example and the translation is not very good (of course is very difficult to make it automatically).
Then for non professional websites, you will have a fast translation to several different languages, which is great, but for professional websites, there are other mechanism that, from my point of view, are more suitable.

Well the module is ok but the quality of the traslation from google is not so great, i dont know but the translated pages really read quite funny...at least in italian.

*Editor note: Be aware that funny translations will be produced by Google, not this module.

JoomlaSpan makes some great stuff. I personally like this module because it translates my website into 9 different languages with ease. Fine module! I would like to see more development on this because it has the potential to be "THE BEST" thing on this joomla site. Look forward to seeing more language translation in the future.

There is some minor issues: jomComment submission works only in english, the latest zoom gallery don't show up the thumbnails ( I think these re hotlinks issue ). Beside that its a wonderful module that does exactly what you pay for. The support provided is the best support I got from a joomla module vendor ever.

I am sure this product will get big in the next year!

This is one module that, to me, would always be relevant and would fit well on every site. Without a doubt, any site can only benefit from being translated into the number of languages offered by this module.

What is even more inspiring, is the fact that it uses the Google translator to effect its translation, which is another way of saying that it brings to any site that uses it, the standard and quality of translation that the world has come to expect from Google.

My interactions with the developer at Joomlaspan has itself been a revelation of sorts for me. His dealings with me has been personal and impressive. The support service by itself is worth the cost, for you come away feeling that you have met someone for whom service and customer care is priority.

That amounts to much more that the present cost of the module. The service matches the module - Excellent!

This module is really cool. Easy to install, easy to configure and super easy to use. I am thrilled now that I can let my users have so many language options.
The module backend has many options and everything is arranged in a very easy to understand manner. I thank the developers of this for the great work on this module.
The support from the developers is also very prompt and helpful. Highly recommended.

Yeah

I really like the Joomlaspan stuff. Their mods have simplicity and functionality, which make them exceptional. So I'm a fan and try and seek their stuff out now and anticipate new mods.

This pro version is great. Offers all the features above and as of right now the only mod that I have tried that didn't require massive amounts of time to re-write code or change other configurations to get it to work right.

Believe me for a Joomla newbie it can become troublesome and very frustrating. The only downside to this is that all the other mods I have tried so far have forced me to extend my knowledge, where as Joomlaspan usually just works without glitches

The price is good and the support is exceptional
