JoomlaStats is a USER AWARE statistics component for Joomla. Features: OS, browser, bots/spiders, referrers, last visitors, last bots/spiders, page hits, visitors by country, average visitors/bots, search engines, and keywords. Many modules are available to display statistics to the front end (more to come). From version 2.1.4 there's no need to tamper with your template. Just download a module to activate JoomlaStats. Visit the project home page for more info! ********************************************* ***************** Latest news ***************** ********************************************* Version 2.2.1 released (beta), This should fix the issue with not being able to summarize ********************************************* Visitors by Country module 2.4 released, check it out: http://www.joomlastats.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=102&Itemid=1 ********************************************* Make sure you have installed Joomla 1.0.10 or newer, but that shouldn't be an issue because you already installed that (due to some security issues) right? Oh btw if you use the counters module, you have to upgrade to mod_jstats_counters1.7.

JoomlaStats has precisely the functionality I was looking for. Easy to install and it worked immediately. Months later I found out that people in different parts of the world had trouble to find my sites, while it always worked for others.
However, my sites came immediately alive for the rest of the world after uninstalling JoomlaStats.
This is a great component and I hope that this issue can be fixed. I had a lot of help from the Joomla forum and ISP to resolve that issue (DNS tests, browser, systems, firewalls, db responses etc) but only trial and error helped to find the culprit.
I am happy to provide more technical details if that helps to improve JoomlaStats.
In summary, if your site is not working for everyone, uninstall JoomlaStats and it may come alive again.

Lack of functions by PointOff, February 24, 2007

I'm using Joomla stats, but from analytical point of view for me as a professional marketing consult, it does not have any use because the lack of one very important function:
You can't see (connect) the page hits for specific keywords.
That is the most important function from analitical point of view. It is only that function that can show you which keywords is good and what keywords are 'cold'.
I will suggest to you to create this variable, because all information are there – you just need to connect it for viewing.
Thanks.

I've been looking for a statistics component.. Tried some, but failed.
Then I found JoomlaStats, It had just what I needed!
And it wasn't a fight installing it! No need to copy-paste a code! This is easily fixed with a bot which integrates the needed code. Now I can track visitors down to the country, I can also view which webcrawlers who have been crawling my site. I can even display my statistics via. modules.
Thanks

I test some statistics components for my sites and this is the best,
simple installation and simple administration.

The ONLY ad caveat with this extension is the obvious fact that it adds a lot of weight to your pages' mySQL queries and a lot of "fat" to your database.
If you've got the horsepower to spare, you're doing yourself a disservice if you're not running this solution alongside, or as a substitute for, your existing analytics solution of choice.
If you're new, you'll notice over time that most Analytics solutions "miss" some important data, or over/under report bots, spiders, and other automated accesses.
JoomlaStats comes as close as anything I've ever seen to getting *everything*. I run it alongside Google Analytics, and Urchin on my server to obtain the most complete possible picture of my logistical terrain.
Moreover, JoomlaStats' admin interface is attractive and convenient, in additon to being powerful and complete, giving me my preferred "first-glance" at statistics.

In response to what Indra2004_id stated - this extension may not have a feature to automatically exclude the site owner from being counted in the statistics, but it DOES HAVE the ability to exclude site visitors from being counted. You just have to pick and choose which visitors you want excluded from a list.
The current version 2.1.3 is in ALPHA and has a few minor bugs, but it's a great extension. I try and use it on any site I want to collect statistics.

Good component, but ... by Indra2004_id, November 18, 2006

This component is such a good one.
I am really helped.
However, it lacks some important features as follows:
* No possibility to export the statistic data so that it can be processed offline
* MySQL database tends to grow pretty fast even with low traffic web site (50-100 visitors/day)
* As pointed by carloq, the last part of path (subdirectory) is doubled; Disturbing the statistic calculation but annoying
* No automatic feature to disable recording statistic from web owner computer, hence the web owner cannot visit his/her own web site without adding number of recorded visitor.
I had to make the hack myself, but I love to have the feature built into the component.

The Most Important Part! by vujsa, November 17, 2006

I had used TFSforMambo before and it really did the trick but this release is even better. You absolutely can't be a serious site administrator without this component. Once you learn how to read them, the stats tell you exactly what you need to do to your website to generate more traffic/revenue. There are a few things that would be nice to see in future releases like detailed reports or item reports like all of the hits to a page for an entire month, or total hits from a referer. Number of page views by the bot for the day would be helpful too. All in all, this tool is excellent at what it does but I wish it did more.

If you are serious about making your site a success - particularly if you charge for your services - install this! I've found the month summary view is an invaluable snapshot that you can use to tie in with your sign-ups/conversions from google or whoever to get quick and easy reporting on whether your marketing campaigns really are working or not

Incorrect path by carloq, October 3, 2006
|
Just unistalled Joomlastats after discovering thousand lines in stats database with incorrect path. Last part of path (subdirectory) is doubled!
e.g.:
http:/www.yoursite.com/yourdir
is stored in db as
http:/www.yoursite.com/yourdir/yourdir
This causes lot of errors in statistics and links.
Cannot reccomend it.

Excellent Resource But Creates Massive Database by FidelGonzales, September 26, 2006

I love having the ability to fine tune the content and content placement of website based upon easily accessible statistics. It has proved very helpful to success. Though, looking at the load upon the database, it is insane. With approximately 20,000 unique visitors at approximately 15-20 pages per visitor, the database has rocketed up to nearly 100 mb, making complete backups of the database and a restore a huge hassle.

Amazing Extension for Stats by sapromo, September 19, 2006

Thank you, This is truly a worth and must have extension. The only suggestion I have is to have feature (magic button) where you can delete all records to make the database smaller (for a newbie and non MySQL literate like me) Other than that, THANK YOU! and GOOD JOB! Owner's reply: It's build into the 2.2.0 release!

This tool is realy what i need. The only thing to ask to the developers is to integrate the "Total Hits" in the counter module.
Good Work! Many Thanks!
