Great product - Highly recommended by XBumble, June 27, 2008

The product install simply and easily - always something you want!
There were a couple of issues I had (turned out to be local and nothing to do with this software). After emailing Olle, he replied back to me within half and hour on 3 separate occasions, which was greatly appreciated.
The software is simple and easy to use and the ability to re-style the pages could not have been made easier for anyone who knows HTML and CSS.
Whilst the software may not have categories etc., it's simplicity makes it a strength in my mind.
Good work Olle!

Very Good by Kayz, June 23, 2008

Very good extentsion however i would strongly suggest a few things for a module like this. Allow users to upload a doc file and their CV and also make customising the pages a lot easier rather than hard coding.
Also the ability to add an image to the template not new job postings but the actuall default template if thats possible at all.
But all in all i would give this module a 7/10! Owner's reply: File attachment to application email has been added and will be in v1.1.3 which is under testing at the moment.
Changing templates can easily be done by editing the template files. No need to edit the code. The templates can even be edited directly from the Administrator interface. It's also possible to have several different template sets.

Great support! by tmarshall, May 28, 2008

Product is good. I installed it for our HR department so I don't use it. What I can comment on is the support...Olle held my hand when this thing broke (my fault, not his script) and got me fixed up in no time!

First of all, it does what it says (or at least most of them).
I have tried this component and worked very well for me so far.
When the user "Applies for a Job", where does the application goes?
Is there a place for me to retrieve the application and process it?
And also, is there a possibility to upload CV (as a document)?
Appreciate any help on it. :)

Nice little component, perfectly suited to a small company wanting to post their own vacancies, I agree however that ecaptha would be a useful addition
nether the less a great addition to joomla thank you!

No major problems by rogimon, March 26, 2008

I find this componet to be very good. I agree that there could be categories for job types but I can overlook that for my needs. I am also having problems with the extra fields that I would like to get sorted out.

Great idea but..... by cuzman, November 16, 2007

Well start with the cudo's for what this program does. First it provides a simple way to display a lot of stuff for someone to scan through and choose what they want to respond to. Second, the ability to not have to register to place an ad means that you do not have to tie up your login that is already designated to the Sobi database since it does not have it's own login. So feasibly you can have things available and in say Sobi database which requires the joomla login to list and then have this program (Jobline) for those posting requests for things that are not found in the database. And not have them create an account. So you could use it for more than posting jobs, could use it for people requesting products etc.
The downside now. No rss capability, and mainly that that when you get it installed on joomla, you do not see it on your page and no where to turn it on. If it is actually on. Where is it? And of course no support anywhere...NADA

A Very Effective Component by sterlingsr, November 7, 2007

I have found this to be a great free component. It is a little narrow in it's job classifications but since it is very well written I found it easy to edit a few files to make it suit my purposes. It's only shortcomings are a missing title bar tag, searchability from the Joomla search component and logging. I will take a look at modifying to include these when I have time and I am not a PHP genius by any means but as I said the code is VERY sell laid out. I would encourage the author to keep up the good work on this as it has been over 200 days since it was last updated.
Thanks for the product. It's in many ways superior to the commercial stuff out there.

Product does not work "out of the box" and requires code hacking. It installed fine, backend administrator allows you to add job classified ads, but nothing shows up on the front end. We kept getting fatal error messages every time my users tried to view a job posting.
I made numerous attempts to seek tech support from the developer via email and forum, but got no help. Was unable to even register at the JX Development website because of a system glitch at their site. Very frustrating.
It appears that this Jobline project is dead, it hasn't been updated in a long time, and the developer no longer provides support. I even offered to make a hefty donation (pay money for support) but received no response.

Access Level Problem by qneal78710, September 19, 2007
|
I love this little application but I have only one complaint. When I choose the "Restrict who can post jobs to this access level" and set it to a certain level and then go back to a test user who's not within that access level, the user is still able to post jobs. This would mean any and everybody can post jobs.

Not bad but not finished by ictus, September 11, 2007

It works, and jobs can be added quite quickly and easily.
Not having categories is a BIG issue, and an update was mentioned, but no news on that as yet.
You can submit a application without filling any fields in, so you have to code that yourself or live with it.
The support site seems very quite, and there have been a few questions about v2, which haven't been answer.
Is this a cold project?

Impressed so far by SnapNet, July 27, 2007

This seems like a very nice component! I just installed it and so far have been impressed by it. I'm going to try and change some of the title names to customize it a bit to my site, so I hope that goes smooth. Thanks for the component!
