Joomla core creates its SEF URLs, which look like that:
http://domain.com/option,com_something/task,view/
Though they look like directories, they are still meaningless both for human and for SEs. JPromoter generates URLs that looks like this:
http://domain.com/section_name/category_name/article-title.html
And note! Not only for core Joomla but for ANY THIRD PARTY COMPONENT!
Moreover unlike some other SEF components JPromoter generates SEF URLs on page display. Some components generate SEF URL only if the user clicks on it. And only after that always shows this SEF URL. This can be damaging if SE crawls your site right after you installed SEF component or index links that were not ever clicked. JPromoter replaces links immediately even if they were not clicked.
JPromoter Integration:
JPromoter is already integrated and generates http://domain.com/section_name/category_name/item_name.html like URLs for components:

We have been using JPromoter for more than 6 months now and I should say it is an indispensable component for Joomla.
Pros:
1. Gives excellent SEF URLs
2. The ability to set meta title, description, page title and keywords are excellent and gives exceptional SEO advantage
3. Very good for SEO
Cons:
1. There has not been developments or releases available offlate and I do not see any improvements or enhancements coming by the way. A few improvements to the features can make it really awesome.
2. The integration XML files supplied with other components are old and need to be updated and thus cause page breakdowns suddenly. No updates on them too.
3. Lack of ability to set 404 page
4. Lack of more SEO features which the other SEF components tend to keep adding to their sleeve.
JPromoter is pretty awesome component, and will be much better if the developers provide more continuous updates with good new features as being introduced in other SEF components.

JP is for those who are serious about SEO and are looking for a reliable partner.
---JP (for Joomla 1.0.X)
Using JP on a few sites for ~6 months now.
Easy to use, user friendly interface.
Unique titles and meta description for every page. Google sitemap with bulk exclude(! - for example you don't want all your DocMan pages to be included).
Change your URLs to anything(!). This is very handy especially nowadays when it comes to upgrading from J1.0.X to J1.5.X (but then you will need JP for J1.5.X too)
I am using it together with: UCD, DoCMan, RSForm.
I don't yet have experience with using JP on a high traffic site (many other SEF plugins fail there as far as I know)
---Support
I am liaising with them a lot since I also use their other products: JDefender, JContent Subscription and JUser.
Joomlaequipment provide excellent support (English not their mothertounge but neither mine). They have skype and you can call them and they reply fast to emails too. They will make integration for any other plugin in 1 day I guess. Or max 2. They really do.
---Price
$25 per domain is fair
Look fwd to trying JP for 1.5.X

I've tried a few other SEF/SEO components on my site and have been put off by the amount of errors they generate and the lack of support for the various GNU licensed products. This is an incredibly well priced tool for what it will do for your site.
Just upload the component overwite or ammend your .htaccess file and that's it. SEF URLs in a matter of minutes.
Well done Joomla Equipment and thank you. I'd highly recommend your product to any other users (especially those with limited technical know how - like me.

After some trouble in the beginning it works really great. It really alters the url and has a good google map component. You can select which pages to submit to google and which not. The support is really great if you respect the time shift and use skype. It's good value and it's a serious company.

I have been debating on whether or not to attempt having SEF URLs with my new site. Based on the feedback here , I thought I would go with JPromoter - I am glad I did.
I ran into a couple issues with one of the components I am running -- Dmitry with the JoomlaEquipment Support team got me up and running in no time. Very professional and great service. I would highly recommend these guys.

I have been through Joomla for a couple of years, getting crazy sometimes (many times) about components, support, license...but I have to say, that this component, among the others this guy is doing, is the best so far, I have ever seen on SEF.
Not only that...support is amazing, dedicated and kind.
I was using this component, originally bought by a client of mine and without asking any questions, I had answer to my mail, support I wanted...
Webmaster down here, think about your work and how you get your components.

Sergey and company give wonderful support, as stated by others. Once I got the new 2.7 component, and one of their support techs looked on my site to figure out what the problem was, we got everything up and running and I am one very happy camper.
My suggestions to improve this great product is for there to be a little more attention paid to things like misspellings, typos, etc. in the code and field descriptions in the admin components, and to improve the help files and bring them up to date with the current version. A lot of is is very broken English and that gives English speakers a feeling of unease.. also, there is a lot of guesswork and mystery involved in setting it up when you're first learning it, and that doesn't have to be the case if the help/readme files were a bit more clear.
These are minor nits, however, and now that I've got it running I'm going to keep it long-term as I haven't seen any other tool with the same array of options.

Well, for those who care about their website optimization and are willing to put in a bit of effort, you need a professional piece of kit to do it. JPromoter 2 is it, stop looking.
There are those who simply want to press a only few buttons in the hope that everything is taken care of, this is simply labor in vain if you have no real control over absolutely all aspects of the SEO procedure.
For those who really care about all their hard efforts in creating a website with the best CMS there is, which is free, then why not spend a few $, £, or whatever for a Joomla component that really defines SEO at its finest.
If like my business you get paid to achieve SE results and have to create brand and product awareness, SEO has to be given first priority. So I had to comment on this.
I rarely take time to write about Joomla components, but JPromoter 2 by Serjey Romanov and Danil Chernyshev has really inspired me to give these guys the thumbs up. They have put so much effort into this piece of professional SEO kit which is worth far more than the asking price. Double it and it's still too cheap for what is best Joomla SEO component there is. Trust me on this.
After sales service quite often comes at a price, by that I mean if you have a problem, you don't get answers, but that is not the case here. Serjey has been very helpful in looking into a couple of minor problems I had which turned out to be simple to fix.
JPromoter 2 does what it says, it's advanced, very professional and gives you absolute total control.
Buy it now and do yourself a big favour.

At first I found this component very frustrating and posted some comments in JPromoter's forum of which I don't appologise for. In fairness though once I figured out where the Sef URL errors where coming from and how to fix them, I admit and can see that JPromoter will be the leader in SEO in time.
I've tried other SEO components on some of my other sites both paid and free but JPromoter is in my opinion is self contained and not invasive on code replacements which some of the other SEO's require to function. This is a big plus, because some other SEO components require core pages to be hacked, this inturn can lead to conflicts with other components/modules etc...
Now my only complaint is that a paid component should have credible Help files or documentation but alas, like many other paid components JPromoter is not alone in this short coming. And despite my unfavorable comments in JPromoters Forum, I have to admit that Sergey was reasonabally quick to offer help.

Having tried many SEO components for Joomla, it seems that Jpromoter has everything.
My main concern has always been the effective integration of all third party components, but Sergey's support is second to none. If Jpromoter doesn't carry support for a specific component, Sergey will write it in.
This component is well worth the money, and a must for anyone considering SEO for their Joomla website.

I don't know.... it didn't work on my site and I have gotten no support, along with others on the developers site. I don't mind a free component not working, but I paid $65.00. I am very un-happy.

I have nothing but good words for this component - I did have a compatibility issue with titlelink and JoomSEF - but Sergey logged on and helped me diagnose that.
I am very happy with this component and where it is lacking Sergey's support and help more than makes up for it!
I have suggested to Sergey that perhaps there could be a purge/prune function for re-analysis as this was part of my problem - I think he is onto that now.
Thanks Sergey - and anyone worrying about the price - trust me you will get your monies worth!!

I think the review is a little unfair.
I've been using jPromote sinces a couple of days before christmas, and it has helped us clean up our site/urls very, VERY much.
The biggest outcome of using it, is the way jPromote scans your URLs. This made us see, that we had all sorts of identical "copies" of the content, due to the item-id-problem, that many users have complained about. jPromote makes a visual presentation of this, so you can fix it, which I believe can be highly recommended to do in terms of SEO.
One thing that is really cool and usefull, is the way it also scans your content so it presents you of the most used words. This is great, as you (once again regarding SEO) would normally have better results, if you use the exact same meta / title as the "most used words".
Also, let me point out, that it automatically swaps (site title) and (page title) if you want to.
That said, I find that the programmer (Sergey) is very fast to help and I have absolutely no problem with the price of the component - come on, you spent HOURS geeting a good site, so why hesitate to give a few dollars to have THE RESULTS of you work much better? :)
Cheers,
Kenneth / Denmark

I have now tried JPromoter, and although I only wanted it to manipulate page titles, it does do that well, and I am impressed. It does require a hacked frontend.php to work properly as far as page titles go, but that is not much drama. When a new version of Joomla comes out, there several hacked files I have to change anyway.
JPromoter, together with Emir Sakic's sef_advanced is all one really needs to make great search engine friendly pages in Joomla. I had been using com_metataggenerator_v.1.0.1 for meta tags (description is still important in my view, but not keywords - but some people still think they are, so why argue?), but Jpromoter will take metataggenerators place.

Installed JPomoter after finding out that the sef patch is incompatible with one component i had installed. initially couldnt see the changes that i made to the urls in jpromoter. contacted the programmer and he set up jpromoter for me within 1 day and fixed the problem. So this was a very responsive support. Now Jpromoter does exactly what it is supposed to: I can customize the title, keywords and descriptions for every single url. Its a pain in the start but once its done you will have a highly optimized site that will rank great in SEs.
I didnt try the google sitemap tool yet as Im using another plugin for that but will try it out soon.

Lets face it, Joomla! just doesn't have support for good SEO. The code structure just isn't well adapted for solid SEO results. So, we at Salyris Studios had to research possible solutions for this and found that OpenSEF and JPromoter are the best "base" for descent SEO results for Joomla!.
After installing and running the "analyzer", it became apparent that JPromoter was doing its job! We could then go through our pages and get most of our pages optimized via keywords and met-tags (descriptions/titles) for each page individually!
Buy it, take the time and add all the necessary meta-data for your pages and start getting better rankings!
Note: Be sure after EACH time you anlyze that you go back and re-publish the JPromoter mambot/plugin. Newer versions could fix this, but for now keep this in mind or you will wonder why it isn't working all of a sudden. ;-)
If you want SEO for Joomla! 1.x sites, then buy JPromoter today!

Hi all!
I am a search engine optimizer. I recently built my first joomla website and was heading to perform some optimization work. Being so amazed how cool and advanced joomla is, I was pretty convinced all through that joomla would be SEO friendly. However, when I noticed that I cannot control and modify my pages' field, on every page separately, I got so freaked! I just couldn't believe how this is possible. I mean, is there something more important than controlling your meta and title fields for efficient SEO? How do all these joomla websites do their marketing?
I checked on Joomla's extension directory and found almost nothing there. I then bought one of the components listed there, which was no good at all. I went deeper in the list, to those non-reviewed components that no one gets to. To make the story short, at the end of the list I found a component, with no stars, 65$, from a guy working in Kyrgyzstan! I checked a little on the map, to see where it is. Seems to me be a beautiful place! Anyway, I didn't have much choices and his site looked pretty good. From the website description the component seemed excellent. The guy (Sergey) has there his MSN and Skype account details. I contacted him and he promised to help me if I have any problem with the installation / component.
So, I bought it! I am so so so so so relieved and happy. My god, it is EXCELLENT. Dollars put exactly in the right place. It's been a few days that I am doing my optimization, being able to modify the meta fields and title field of every page on my website (separately)!
And even more important - the developer of this component, Sergey, is a wonderful guy. I have never seen such level of support, anywhere. He is there for me on the Skype with every issue. He helped me out a lot, and even added some features to the component to my request.
To sum up. Thank you Sergey. This is indeed a great tool!

ps. I would consider changing the name of this category to "Optimization Toold". JPromoter is much more than a SEF url tool.
I mean, "Search Engine Friendly URLs" could be considered as part of SEO, but it is not as important to SEO as controlling your meta tags, which is why JPromoter is so precious to me.
I believe that optimizing the site's URLs and neglecting the site's meta and title fields is putting the energies in the wrong place...
Love!
