Multisites Control for Banners + Content + News
Administer your:

- content
- banners
- news

on all your Joomla sites from ONE place!!

THIS COMPONENT IS BIG!!!!

The Multisites Control for Joomla is a component for copying selected database tables or records and content from a Main site to selected sub sites incl. support of FTP.

The file and folder permissions are copied as well.

1. About Multisites Control
This component is an admin interface for Content, Banners and News management from the main site to child sites.
2. Potentialities
More particularly this component gives opportunity to perform such actions as copying content from one site to any others, one-click publishing, unpublishing and deletion of content from many sites.
3. Managing child sites
Having installed that component and forum you should go to List sites adjustment (Components/Multisites Control/List sites) where you can add child sites for content management, delete child sites, test Database and FTP connections to child sites.

First of all you should add at least one child site.
Click on the New button. New site form appears. Fill data in form fields according to your site settings:

Site Name - Name of the site which will be displayed in sites list
Site Url - URL from which site is available
Database settings: Database Host Database User Database User Password
Database Name Table prefix - prefix of all tables used by Joomla. (Usually - jos_ )
FTP connection settings
FTP host
FTP login
FTP password
FTP documentroot - a relative path to site location on FTP server from you home directory After filling all data, click on Save button.

New site should appear in the site list.
You can check the correctness of Database and FTP settings by marking checkbox and clicking on Test DB or Test FTP buttons.

To delete sites from the list - select them via checkboxes and click on Delete button.

4. Configuration in configuration setup
(Components/Multisites Control/config) you can change following options:

News section Id. This parameter identifies the section Id for news management on child sites.
Autopublish. If this option is turned on - all copied content becomes published automatically. If it is turned off - you should publish manually all new content.

5. Content, Banners and News management.
In this sections you can copy content to other child sites, publish, unpublish and delete multiply content items.
To copy some content items, mark them via checkboxes and click on Copy button. New form appears in which you should select destination site and section where to copy content.
When new content is copied, its author will be the same as defined in Created By drop-down.
After you select via checkboxes destination sites and sections where to copy - click on Apply button.
All content will be copied and you will be returned to the list of all content. Here you can ensure that all content was copied successfully.

There are the same functions for Banners and News management as for Content management.

Combined with Multisites ProFTP you will have a very strong solution.

JoomFish support added in the latest version! Please see the demo site to check it out.

Very useful - saves heaps of time for me by Lumis, November 6, 2006
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:
We run several websites where some of the content as well as banner advertising is common between them. Previously we had to copy/paste articles into every site, as well as update banners individually. Having used several of the ELearning components before, I was confident that this component would deliver as promised. Within about 10 minutes, I had added the FTP and database details had all my sites listed within the component, and was able to publish articles from my main site to all my other sites! Banners are sweet too, we get a new advertisement, and presto - a few clicks and it's added to all other sites instantly - too easy!!
Maybe in future their could be a hack so other 3rd party components like forms or photo galleries could be supported - add it to the wishlist :)
