Does the job, but missing some key features by TheSaint, January 27, 2008
This module works as advertised, but it is missing two necessary components:

1. There is no way to disable mambots. If you have a lot of markup in your articles they'll show up in the scroller as well, even if they throw off the formating.

2. The read more link can only be displayed as an image and not a custom user-defined text link.

Overall it works, but is nothing special.

Simple, effective, closest to what I want by timmcallister, June 19, 2007

I have tried many of the "eye candy" type modules for displaying content items, and still find this simple module to be "just about right"! It shows the content from the intro section, and can display a "read more" link.

It handles images, and HTML links well.

I am using it on three sites, and users seem to like it.

Only thing it really needs is the ability to display the content in a random order. Users will see the same content order, so if you have a number of articles, it make take a bit to get through them, and by then, your user is on a different page and seeing it all from the start again!

If it could randomly order content, it would get a 5 star!

Simple - Needs Improvement by ericcarson, January 15, 2007

It does what it claims, with user selectable width and height. Uses the HTML Marquee tag. What it does not have however is any way to "pad" before or after the text in the scroll box. Therefore your first news item is visible for merely an instant before it scrolls off the top, and when the module reaches the bottom it "snaps" back to the top. This can be remedied by inserting line breaks manually into the modules code.
