Eventing is a event handling component that offers table or calendar view. You can link to other websites or open a details page inside your own website. It includes submitting of new events by users, automatically removing of past events, multi-day events, the possibility for repeated events, translated full-text dates, and numerous displaying options. There's also a module and a searchbot available.

This is what I'm looking for by alexlwc, January 19, 2007
Thx for contribution. I should say this is the best out of all the complecated event component.

I really appriciate for eventing component. It will be much better if:

1. the admin can have a choice to select how many current event to list on the mod_eventing
2. the outdated event in mod_eventing can automatically deleted and replacing for the latest upcoming event.

It will be much appriciated if the next release version include the suggestion above. Thank you.

Nice idea, but.. by eyezberg, November 29, 2006
.. too bad this still doesn't work right!
The changed file has "#_ instead of #__ in the xml (one underscore instead of 2), so won't work!
Easy enough to fix (if you know how), but also:
the only thing I can get to show is another URL, no internal details page seems to work (I thought this would be the 2nd text area, but clicking an items title doesn't do anything!?
I'd like for this to work as I'd have a use for it, and I'd like one little option: allow reoccuring events (checkbox: yearly)!
If i want to list birhtdays, I have to input this years date, and then change it every year!

Simple, straight and great, with just a very small bug by Friedel, November 28, 2006

That is just the event manager I was looking for: simple, straight and easy to handle, with a component usable for the frontend and a module.

At present there just seems to be a small bug in the eventing.xml-file that creates a table with the prefix "jos_..." instead of any other one chossen by the admin during installation of Joomla.

So if the prefeix of your Joomla instalaltion tables is not "jos_" you have to rename the table created by the installer for this component or - much better - change the eventing.xml file accordingly (change "CREATE TABLE `jos_eventing`" to "CREATE TABLE `#__eventing`").

Owner's reply:
Hi Friedel

Thanks for the report! I'll correct the bug and put a new download online.

A very simple eventing solution by Mtif, November 28, 2006
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:
Like the authors said, its a very simple solution - and it works faultlessly.

Enter event categories, and event details and they are listed in chronological order to viewers, with hyperlinks to another webpage if more detail of needed. The listing expires when the event date is passed.

But that's about it. It is not part of the scope of this project to include any booking features for an event - this is a listing component only. And the listing is not included on a calendar, just a list.

I can think of uses for this component, but today I am looking for a more complete solution.

Impossible installation by nedim, November 27, 2006
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:
Please note:
Component is not valid.
1. Installation cannot be done ! SQL errors
2. After installation it create folder called com_events, to uninstall that and try again, you need to have FTP access, or File manager Access
3. Errored Installation cannot be uninstalled or removed with Administrator backend.
That is all!

Owner's reply:
Hi nedim

Are you sure you're talking of eventing? Because I ran several installation tests on different servers and providers with no problems. And I vaguely remember an other component that gave me a similar headache and inspired me to it myself.

Cheers
