Ident Problem by AjnabiLarka, August 24, 2008
well this is one of the best component but it has no option to add Ident and server password for IRC users it only work for unprotected Irc server but not on web based and irc based server

Great Component by deko, August 23, 2007
Im using it long time ago, since previous version.
u can configure it like pure pjirc in backend or in pjirc config file. some small smileys wasn't really fixed.

Waste of Time by kvisions, July 27, 2007
Seeing three stars, I expected this component to at least work... Nothing Doing.

It installs okay. Even the configuration options seem straigtforward enough. After the arduous work of setting it up, adding it to a menu, and running it however, I'm met wit an error;

Startup error: java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string;""

It doesn't work. It's too bad really. IRC integration would at least temporarily solve the void that is the lack of good chat solutions for Joomla CMS.

Need more improvements by baijianpeng, March 2, 2007
This is a good component since it give us real IRC chat via an external IRC server. You can also use many IRC commanders. But this component is not good enough expecially on the security setting issue and interface friendlyness. I hope the author can make it better then we all will benefit from it.

Dosen't work by NatasataN, February 25, 2007
Well... as my website's chatroom is in irc I was happy to find this component. 1st you got the unsigned ActiveX issue wich makes only about 88% of my users unable to use it, second alot of people get the NumberFormatException including me and simply dosent load. 3rd support for this component is zero.

I also tryed installing the older version and had errors on the install.

I havent tryed with reg emulation "on" and will not!

All in all this component probably has been the biggest waste of time in me Joomla! experience. Like the other guy said... it should be removed from here.

PS: On the component's forum, the last post from the maker to help users date's from a year and a half ago... so consider this component... rotten. :P

Issues with RG_Emulation=off by Asphyx, January 3, 2007
This component has some issues when you turn off RG_Emulation in config and it has been suggested to leave this off for security reason.

I hope this can be resolved at some point as this is one of the few chat modules that uses a real IRC client as opposed to the PHP and Flash refresh method which is slow and less powerful than a standard IRC client!

unsigned... by krissu, December 31, 2006
hmm, since I am in a DESPERATE need to use chat on my site, I have tried most of the ones here. This one seemed to be the only one that actually uses irc.chat option to connect to an external server to an existing chatroom.

But - first of all, unsigned activeX is banned 'by default' in IE6 and above and secondly, changing the security resulted with nothing: just the blank screen with a broken image. So, though' the backend would be perfect with all the options and help, the chat in front-end I can't review since I've never actually seen it... :(:(:(

Please, fix it or remove it. There's no use for a component which has fabulous administrator tools and doesn't display for the actual users.

VERY eager to try it again - once it starts working.
