CB Profile Flags
CB Profile Flags is a Community Builder plug-in that does two things. First, it installs a whole bunch of flag graphics for hundreds of countries and all U.S. States. You can define and add your own graphics, and they don't have to be flags. Second, it defines a tab that shows one or two flags per user profile, initially designed to be selected by country and state. The flag (or other) graphics can be used by other Joomla extensions, and are designed to be used by the companion Newest Users Pro and Online Users Pro modules. Three sets of flags are provided: countries, tiny_countries, and us_states. See screenshot to get an idea of what the flags look like in a member profile. You can choose to show either one or two flags based on CB fields you define, or to show one only if the other field hasn't been entered by the user yet.

Version 1.0.7 corrects a minor bug that kept the country name from displaying sometimes.

Version 1.0.6 corrects some minor W3C issues and adds Taiwan to the country list (it had been omitted for some reason).

Version 1.0.4 removed ampersands from country names and 1.0.5 corrected the version tag in the install file.

Joomla 1.53 (Legacy) Compatible by pipster, July 4, 2008
Installed on 2 Joomla 1.5 sites with my own flag sets. I love this plugin Thanks

Thanks for your extension by netfly, March 22, 2008
Easy to install, this plugin is a must have for CB. I have a hard work to update manually the profiles of 405 users. So an automatic conversion would be great :D

Thanks for your work.

awesome by kindoflost, March 15, 2008
both the product and the service I received. this guy walked me through the installation and even helped me with server and php stuff that I had to change from my hosting service not really related to the product. and it is great that the flags can also be used in other modules. happily up and running here. highly recommended.

Great add-on by Creatorffm, October 18, 2007
This is a great add-on to any community site. I found it easy to install and being able to edit the accompanying modules css right from the module manager is also a big plus! Great Job!

NOTHING COMPARES by bikingforbreakfast, October 1, 2007
This is the best CB extension and the best personal assistance from a developer that I have ever received. Bruce helped me work with his extension to make it fit with my site. For example, my site is more focused on Canada so we were able to get the state/provinces field to list the flags. I simply added the CDN provinces flags and data and presto . . .

Bruce even sent me a follow-up email months later to remind me about making a change to improve the site.

I'd give more than 5 stars if it were possible.

Pedaling Solidarity,

Ken

I tried to install this because we have a lot of users from different countries.

I followed the installation.txt to the letter. When i try to install it only result in my internetconnection collaps and a massage "Failed to move uploaded file to /media directory".

So maybey it will work someday. I better installation.txt will be apreseated

Great add-on, needs to support one more! by TheSaint, July 7, 2007
It would be great if this supported Live Users Pro. Other than that, I have no complaints. The install was a bit tricky, but part of it was due to the quirks in CB itself, not a limitation of the plug-in. Bruce, if you support Live Users Pro in an update, I'd be willing to give you a little stipend. Great job overall!

Yum! by shellberry, July 5, 2007
I wasn't sure if this plugin would be necessary for the site I was building, but after reevaluating our target market I realize this is EXACTLY the key piece to help weave a more global community feel. And it works fabulously yummy.

Be advised though, you probably will NOT be able to just upload the plug-in through the interface like normal but in my situation it was worth the extra few steps. Take a few extra minutes and read the forum on their site and familiarize yourself with how to troubleshoot the /media directory issue and the MYSQL issue BEFORE installation and before you come across them. I'm definitely a novice when it comes to MYSQL, but he explains everything in black and white and the steps are so simple.

Thank you Bruce for this great plug-in!

Great Extension...Simple and Effective by bruno05, April 24, 2007
I like this plugin a lot. Had some minor hiccups during installation, but most of the answers were there at the developers site forum. Also very quick and detailed response from the developer to my questions. Really appreciated that.

Recommend this to everyone.

If you don't know how to follow directions, you can forget about this one. I learned the hard way.

In the folder "tiny_countries", the file called "djibouti.gif" should be rename by "Djibouti.gif".
Installation works after...

This little problem (and a couple others) have been corrected in v1.0.2. Thanks for the feedback!
