Absalom Media has developed an OpenID plugin to authenticate to the following services: LiveJournal, Vox, Verisign PIP and MyOpenID. Extensively tested on all services with correct URI mapping.

This plugin not require your template to be changed in order to work with OpenID. Just install, set your provider and username in the plugin parameters and go.. Simple, quick and effective to deploy.

It's just a trick to use your domain name as your OpenID address (an alias) so you can sign to OTHER sites.

Doesn't provide OpenID registration/login on your site.

I guess the install notes are not very extensive. But for sure they are not enough. This bot simply sit's doing nothing.
