J!Vote is the Free version of JC Vote. It is an Unobtrusive AJAX Voting System. This means that if Javascript is off it will still work (although the page will refresh). The community version is just a substitute of the Joomla Core Rating System. It uses 5 star for voting and makes use of CSS for some cool effects.

Excellent Ajax Voting, degrades nicely. by heavenlymedia, May 25, 2007

This is really good! It replaces the default MOSratings mambot and gives a nice ajaxy voting system with stars that you mouse over. It continues to work nicely with javascript turned off too. One thing, you have to unpublish the MOSratings mambot or you'll see both voting interfaces. I have found no problems in firefox.

both the free and commercial versions are junk.

cannot show these star ratings independently of the core ratings, ie, they both show at the same time!!...or they are both turned off. =(

star ratings do not show on frontpage for either version. free version only shows up on full content item! so useless.

don't waste your time on the free one nor your money on the commercial one.

i haven't found any issues under firefox, sorry.
i anyone knows any issue - plz, report something specific, to be sure that there's some, but not user-specific issue!
regarding the module - i found very usefull and pretty.
the only concerning is about positioning - by default it is positioned at the top of the content, and to move it on the bottom, on ehave to fix it in the code. actually i can't change the position at the "mambots" tab, as i expected, so the votes are positioned after the comments, which is not good :(
anothe clue to abyone, who want to use it - if you will allow votes only to registered users - make sure to keep the second bot "tools" registered as for public! without this it didnt work for me!
and for translations you have to manually change the jcvoteutils\jcvoteutils\rpc.php file at the bottom.
i rate it exellent!
