I was using Mamblog before, but I had a lot of problems. MyBlog is a very nice extension. Nearly everything is working fine and if not - the support is awesome and really fast.
I am only waiting for UBB Code Support and group blogging. Everything else is wonderful!

I saw a review below that someone made - "It's programmed poorly. " This is completely not true. Out of most of the Joomla extensions out there, this one is probably the easiest to use and most user friendly.
I just recently had an issue that needed to be resolved, and these guys did not stop working until it was resolved as well. So if you have any problems, these guys will have your back. |

I examined a number of blogging capabilities for my users, many of whom are very new to the idea of blogging. The component itself is solid with a very elegant tagging system that enables bloggers to tag their entries with a number of tags versus a single category. This creates a very dynamic, fluid exchange of ideas that are easy to surf.
I would give this component an excellent score except that I ran in to a few minor bugs. However, the technical support provided by the company is stellar. They resolved the issues quickly and professionally.
I highly recommend also procuring the Jom Comment component from this same company. MyBlog and Jom Comment integrate nicely plus Jom Comment is a solid component in its own rite. |

I was a bit reluctant to install a blog component as I used to be a firm believer in the intrinsic interactive features of Joomla. However, having used My Blog for a 'developer blog' on my site, I should admit I am very satisfied.
There were a couple of minor teething issues, which the support team ironed out very quickly. |

This component is great, has a great tag system that makes it very easy for users to search/sort through different blogs. The only issues I have seen is that to add an entry there is a pop-up window that looks different from your site. This is unfortunate.
Suggestion: I use Ako Comment, not JoomComment, can you integrate it with Ako? That'd be great. |

This would be an awesome component, BUT:
1. It's programmed poorly. Many Ajax-functions don't work. I can't even save any new entries!
2. The dashboard is ugly and uses inconvenient technology. Why do I have to use a complicated Ajax-Dashboard? All I want is a way to intuitevely write new entries.
3. It's poorly programmed and therefore not worth its price. I've seen extensions which were way better programmed than this extension - and they didn't cost anything. Why do we have to pay $ 45 (!!) for a buggy old Beta-Version? |

Not only is this component very well written, and EXACTLY what I was looking for when replacing Mamblog on my site. But the support is so incredible I created a user account on extensions.joomla.org EXPRESSLY for the purpose of sharing my experience with others.
The author will reply to your tickets in a matter of minutes, will go OUT OF HIS WAY to even make changes to the code that are enhancements, and fix anything. While there was a small problem with some of the RSS presentation (which is now fixed)... the support staff were nothing short of a delight to work with.
I'd not hesitate to buy another product from them. |

You get what you pay for. This is a great component and the support is outstanding. The developers worked tirelessly with me to help me get the component working on my site when I had something misconfigured in my php.ini - which solved other problems I was having on the site as well. Their support system is first-class and their products (I have MyBlog and Jom Comment) are outstanding and integrate seamlessly with Joomla and Community Builder. |

MyBlog does it's job reasonably well, but there are things about it I don't like:
- The dashboard! Many people have already said that they don't like it and I agree. Why do we need it? I have spent a lot of time, money and effort getting the right template and look and feel for my site. Why would I want then send the users off to an ugly 'dashboard' to write a blog entry?
- No option to use the default or any other installed editors. (I've already had a "where are my smilies?" comment.)
- I know that language support is supposed to be coming. I hope it does soon, because the words "MyBlog" and "Blog" appear all over the place. I hate the word "blog" and want to call this feature of my site a diary. I've gone and edited the source files (quite a lot of effort) to change all I can, but unfortunately I can't edit the code for the dashboard, so I'm stuck there. Also as new releases of the code occur, I'm going to have to do all my editing again. It would be much better to put all that text in a language file that I can easily customised.
- There are still bugs. I found an extra '' in one place that was causing my template to go haywire.
This is definitely still a work in progress. It has promise, but the dashboard has to go! |

I love the general look of Myblog and received help very quickly when needed.
I am new to Joomla and shall leave possible suggestions until I am more experienced, but I can say that checklists for setting up complex joomla sites with various combinations would be great. I am looking forward to getting to know Myblog! |

I have just recently started my own site which is blog-based and this was the perfect component. The backend interface has many customizable features. The look of the frontend is very professional. I purchased the Pro version along with Jom Comment which integrates very nicely. |
