I have just recently started my own site which is blog-based and this was the perfect component. The backend interface has many customizable features. The look of the frontend is very professional. I purchased the Pro version along with Jom Comment which integrates very nicely. |

I'm not going to comment on features because I've not had a chance to properly test drive the extension but one of the main reasons I went for MyBlog was Community Builder integration and the support I recieved when the CB plugin suffered a fatal error was absolutely first class.
After logging my problem on the Azrul support board I recieved immediate attention and when an initial fix did not work I was sent an interim fix until the next release of the plugin.
This is the kind of support that builds confidence and proves that the developer is serious about their work. |

This nice component is almost perfect. It is really nice to have a good blogplatform in Joomla - I have been waiting for that a long time now! It is also good that it is easy to set up and easy to understand.
There are some things I dont like with MyBlog:
1) If I edit a blogentry the time changes a day or two. This is maybe not hard to fix later but it messes up the order of the blogs.
2) I would like to see a list of the bloggers to choose from and not have everyone in the same blog. I know have to make a menu to just one blog, but when a big site have many bloggers it is hard to make separete links for everyone.

This component would be awesome but like many others have posted, why are you given a new window/tab for the Dashboard?
It's integrated into Joomla extremely well and very well written, but I would like to see the dashboard implemented into the MainBody instead or at least an option? (Pop up or MainBody)
Also, I can't seem to get any other commenting components to work with it, yet I have the plugin/mambots published for the commenting. I personally use J!Reactions.
Lastly, it doesn't even use my Joomla editor.
Other than that, it seems to be a great blogging component. |

This is a desperately needed Joomla component. It is shaping up very well and is very easy to install and use. In conjunction with the authors Joom Comment it is a very powerful Bloging component. I tried the very first version that was posted here and now 0.8 Beta 4 and I must say it has come a long way in just a few weeks. This is definitely a Mamblog killer. The RSS feeds work perfectly. Being able to add and edit blogs from the front-end means you not have to worry about letting your users into the backend. Yes it still needs some shaping up but it is looking like this is going to be a top Joomla component. What I would like to personally see is the ability to order the entry’s manually, (descending or ascending) instead of all being posted by date. Keep up the good work guys. I know I will be using this component. |

Nice. Works well. Easy to install. JomComment is easy and functional, and one click to integrate.
Yeah, would be nice if blog entry happened in the site, not a separate tab or window, but so what.
This is much nicer than trying to teach a novice blogger how to create articles in the back end.
Looking forward to trying the CB integration.
May already be the best Blog component.

The fact that it brings you out of your site to post is a turn off for me. I couldn't even find a link back to my main site.
Once that gets figured out though, this will be high on my list of must needs for my sites. |

Well I personally love this component. Yes, there are a few little things that need sorting out but remember that this component is in BETA which obviously means that it's still being built.
PROS:
> Simple to setup
> Easy to configure
> Loads of features when writing a blog
> Right inside your Joomla installation (Big Plus!)
> Good Support!
CONS:
> Admin Menu in front end not back end (to create a blog entry)
This component is really just like WordPress but right inside your Joomla installation! No needing to mess around with RSS and trying to customise your blogging program to match the template, it's all built in!
