ContentPlus is an addon content component displaying sections/categories in different styles. This verison of ContentPlus give administrators two extra options when adding Menu Items to a menu: (1) ContentPlus - Section Blog This will output all category titles and descriptions within a section in a blog format. Every category will have a read-more link to its Blog Content Category page. (2) ContentPlus - Section Content Tree This will output a list of all categories and content items below them that belong to the selected section. All displayed contenttitles will link to the contentitem.

Just what I needed by kjonmyway, May 29, 2008
This is an excellent extension. I use the section tree to display a large catalog of information, with links to each content page - great for when your website visitors need to sift through a lot of content quickly. Wondering why this isn't part of the core.

Covers very well the lack of category view in a Section Blog menu item.
The component even searches for the right Itemid for the BlogCategoty sons...

I am a newbie to Joomla, but I read all the help sites thoroughly before starting - in particular everything on sections/categories/content items. So I was somewhat surprised that you couldn't get all your category descriptions to appear in your section_blog. Our site has 5 sections, each with about 10 categories and our plans are for each category to have between 10-15 content items. We didn't want to just pick content items. We wanted a menu of categories for each section to appear as a blog format and this extension does it perfectly. Why is this not a stock item in Joomla?

Having a small problem getting the extended menu items to drop down properly, but working on a fix for this now.
