This is really nice on the site. I think our church members will get a lot out of it.

Thanks to those of you who have posted reviews with comments about how to fix install problem or I don't think I would have got it to work. I would have given it a 5-star rating if the initial install would have worked.

I've been using M&E for a long time, was very happy when this was made available as a joomla! component. Even though it was originally made as a J!1.0x components, it installs and works well under J!1.5 (legacy mode) without any issues (if you encounter the error: "XML Parsing Error at 1:0. Error 4: not well-formed (invalid token)" during installation in J!1.5, it is safe to ignore and will still work.
Kudos for a great component!!!

Thank you for sharing this wonderful component. I love it very much. I edit the morning files with with my own devotion reading (from daily bread) and now everyday my users can have devotional time morning and evening. God bless the developer.

This was a terrific extension to add to our church web site, especially since our pastor is an expert on Charles Spurgeon.

Just like some other reviewers I got an error message when I tried installing this component. However, after I removed the __MACOSX folder from the archive, the component installed without problems.

So, thanks for this beautiful piece of work!

While the Local Server install worked great, it failed online giving me the error below. I tried fixing the .zip download file, removed mac folder and what not to no avail:

"ERROR: Fatal error: Call to a member function getTagName() on a non-object in /home/trutriv4/public_html/main/administrator/components/com_installer/installer.class.php on line 167"

So I simply took all of the files, put them in a com_spurgeon folder, threw them into my Components folder online and added this link to my main menu:
"index.php?option=com_spurgeon&Itemid=31"

Worked like a charm! :)

... every time I try to install. (url edited). Even uploaded file manually to server and attempted install from there - It created the directories, but didn't put anything in them, and didn't register in the Admin panel. Now I can't get rid of the empty directories, and it won't let me manually put the files in them either.

Nice try, but one frustrating night and nothing to show for it...

I had no problems installing and using the component. Thanks for the usage of one of my favorite authors on our youth group website.

Actually I love this module. But I don't know why every time I installed it's always failed. I am using Joomla E-Commerce Edition 1.0.12, PHP5 and MySQL 5. Hope this will be better in the next version. GBU
