Just had a quick look at some of the comments here - can't believe people are complaining!
ME is a FREE and stable real estate component and people who designed it and decided to distribute it as an open source deserve every praise! It's easy to install, there are no major glitches and it just works. Thank you guys and don't let some irrational negative comments upset you. You've done a great job!

Good component but very bad support:

Truly one great component! I have tried many others and failed to grant the functionalities ME has granted.

I can confirm it is written very bad and does not work at all. It's simpler to write it from scratch than trying to customize this!

Not sure, but after reading your review I´m asking myself, how it´s possible, that the live site section over there on MisterEstate.com contains actually over 180 sites which were build with MisterEstate?! Would be impossible, if it were true, that MisterEstate doesn´t work at all.



MisterEstate is based on the over 2 year old EstateAgent komponent and surely, there´s a lot what could be better. But do you know a perfect software?



As I wrote above, customizing presupposes one is familiar with the basics of webdevelopment. If you´re not able to customize it, you shouldn´t make the component responsible. It´s 100% opensource!

I am getting crazy of this component. I so wanna have it on my website but I can not because it does not work in affairs of my PHP DB which is v. 5 and with it the comp. works noncomplete. If anybody had the problem with and has found a solution, please write me it.

The reason for your problems must lie in a very special server configuration. MisterEstaet was tested with PHP5.x/mxSQL5.x and a lot of our users are running it on servers with PHP5.x and/or mySQL5.x, without any trouble.

I have EstateAgent on one of my sites and it works great.
It is easy to use and all the things works well.
I'm glad that I choose this extension!
The only problem I have is that in Explorer it will not scroll in my template but in Opera, Mozilla etc it works well. But in Explorer it overlaps my template but it doesn't matter.

The coding is faulty and the functionality is very strict i.e. you have very little control of the output.

I first tried out EA to make a real-estate website to show properties; however because of the above I cannot use it. It is one of the extensions that does not rely on the mosPathway from Joomla, hence implements EA's own and sets Joomla's out of function.

Worst of all; there is no support from programmer or others using the extension, so if you know little about the extension, you cannot get started without reading the entire code through - and then you might as well write it yourself.

I would only recommend this extension if you have very little use for specific functionality and layout; and can live with faulty software.

customizing the output or the whole component is a question of knowledge. If you´re familiar with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, DHTML, PHP, mySQL and of course Joomla - customizing is no big problem. Take a look at the live sites section. A lot of users has successfull customized MisterEstate for their needs.



Yes, it´s true, that I´m not always at the forum, because I have to do commercial jobs to be able to offer MisterEstate for free. Think about! ;-)

But it´s not true, that there´s absolute no support. On the project´s website you can find a forum with more than 1000(!) topics in relation to MisterEstate. So how can you say, there´s "no support"?

For customization. This component is poorly coded, full of bugs, is not really OOP and very redundant. If you planning to use this to customize the code. Think twice.

EstateAgent works well on my Joomla site. I intend to take over the 14 Million pound Scottish property market. Estate Agents are finnished with their 1.5% fees. People can now find buyers for their property. Sellers can advertise for £ 30 on my site.

I am using this component in an HOA website. It's very easy to configure, but unfortunately is very much geared for the way the British present real estate (even after changing the language.php file). I customized my install to look the "American" way. Not sure I'd use it for a commercial realty, but it's fine for my purpose. No install or execution issues.
