I am fairly new to all of this, but I have a rather small board up with about 800 subscribers. I purchased the pro version in the spring of 08 and have had very few problems with the software in getting it to do what I wanted and needed.
When these problems arose, I contacted support, and they were immediately responsive with information and clear directions to help me solve the very few problems I had.
I highly recommend this software and the folks who support it. I will continue to do business with them. |

I had tried to set up a newsletter via Letterman last year. The functionality of Letterman was not sufficient to meet my needs. I gave Acajoom a shot this summer/fall and have been very happy with both features and support.
I started with the basic version of Acajoom to test it out. I immediately saw that it had the basic functionality so I upgraded to the midlevel version to have more control over cron taks etc.
I ran into some fairly basic problems during installation. I found some answers in the documentation (the tutorials are great), and some on the support discussion board. I posted two questions to the discussion board and someone from support answered them - with useful answers - in less than a day. In one case, I wanted a new feature; he wrote a couple lines of SQL code to provide the feature, and posted on the discussion board exactly where to change those lines in my source code. Very nice.
I ran into a webhost problem (that lots of people run into) where my host limits the number of emails I can send an hour in order to keep me from using my account for spamming. Adrian, from Acajoom, went to my site and made the configuration changes necessary for me to work withing those rules; he said this is part of the tech support package provided.
So, I've now upgraded to Acajoom Pro. While I could give them a list of desired features (no software is perfect), I am very happy with what I have and the support I am receiving. |

A really impressive component. I just finished my first professional mailing and everything went really very smoothly. Acajoom Pro is very user friendly and if you should have questions, the forum is the place to be. Just one small negative remark. I find it a pity that a newsletter cannot be sent via another list or different lists. You have to make the same newsletter again. On the other hand, the possibility to install templates for each list is really helpful. My respect for the designers. Super work ! In my opinion is Acajoom Pro certainly worthwhile to buy. |

Gets the job done! Have any problems, the forum is a great resource.
I use this as an autoresponder, as it is the only component as of yet to have this function?
Works perfect without any problems, and the great function of members able to set up their free cron jobs at their external site is a major plus!

Acajoom is real easy to use, and when i had trouble with trying to set up the autoresponders, their support went to my site and helped me to identify the problem and gave me the solution for it. They were very fast to respond and I am very impressed with their support. I strongly recommend you give Acajoom a go. |

My clients require a website that allows them to control their own online marketing - Acajoom really nailed it with this component - if you know what you're doing then you'll see that these guys really put together a must have component if you're serious about online marketing and effectively communicating with your client base and list.
There's one thing that must be added to make this component totally complete... the ability to create more robust forms...meaning, we want to capture more information from our visitors when they opt-in to newsletters and a marketing campaign using the auto responders ... right now you can only have name and email...this creates a lot of marketing constraints using this component. By incorporating a forms creator this component will be complete and the best marketing option when using Joomla.
I was told almost 3 months ago they were going to be releasing this functionality...haven't heard anything since... from my perspective as someone who builds sites for online marketers... I gotta have this or we will have to custom build our own component... I don't want to have to do this...but this creates a major constraint for very obvious reasons... c'mon guys... make it happen.
Other than the forms creator you can't go wrong - anyone giving negative feedback doesn't understand what they're doing... check it out. |

almost 100 euros : for such a money we should have a state of the application. Far from it : the smart-newletter is supposed to created automated newsletter, but it does not handle french accents, even in Joomla 1.5 where everything is utf8 coded. another problem : with a lot of articles it's impossible to select articles included in the smart newsletter because we must choose them in a flat list : just imagine 2000+ lines to choose an article... we should have have a filter/search function with section/categories/articles
all the other functions are well or better implemented in the free, truly state of the art phplist.
and for the 100 euros, we don't even have a life-time license update : only one year. Now I very well understand why it's not possible to test acajoom pro before buying it. |

Acajoom does exactly what it says it does and more. I downloaded the free version and then upgraded to Pro within a matter of hours once I saw what it could do.
I had several problems on my install (all due to my lack of experience in this particular area - nothing to do with the product!). I found most of the answers on the forum and what I couldn't find I posted a question about. The support crew got back to me literally within hours and bingo, all solved.
It's pretty rare to find a great component with equally great support but this is certainly one of them. I'd recommended Acajoom to anyone who asked and I'd definately recommend upgrading to the paid version including support! |

This newsletter is a must have for all businesses interested in keeping viewers updated and coming back. Acajoom PRO is the only one to offer the Smart Newsletter. This feature allows you to set up a newsletter, custom design it and set up the schedule, and with a small content tag, and cron task (available free) the newsletter goes out automatically by your schedule, (daily, weekly, or whatever you wish) with your updated articles. (Full, Intro text or just linked titles. Once it's set up, you do nothing... it works by itself. It Maintains lists, allows users to subscribe and unsubscribe. You can't ask for better!! Works with 1.5
Beware working with SEF in Joomla 1.5. This is a challenge, but the good news is that the support is better than the program. Adrien is the best!! Thanks for what should be rated as one of the best modules available. |

We have been using Acajoom Pro for the past year and find it to be an excellent and easy-to-use product.
We currently run 4 newsletters (with more to come) that are each administered by different staff.
Training to use this product takes less than half an hour and all those staff involved have remarked how simple it is to use.
Well done to all at Acajoom.

I have tried all the newsletter components for Joomla and Acajoom just blows all the rest away. Have had many successful newsletter posts with great response. Their support has always been A+!!
The only thing I would like to see are some additional newsletter templates in the actual system or as a download. This would be a great bonus for all buyers! |

I have started using Acajoom, and because In require a robust solution for dispatching thousands of newsletters on a regular basis, decided to pay the money for the Pro solution.
Acajoom Pro was easy to setup however it did some searching of the forum posts and emails to the developer to get it working properly for me.
I have to say that response times to my enquiries were excellent. Adrien takes a highly professional to support requests and I am pleased to say that I now have Acajoom Pro configured and working as I would like it to.
The Smart Newsletter tool is fantastic and I am starting to use this facility for automatically creating and broadcasting my newsletters - time will be the ultimate judge, but it's looking very promising so far.
I have tried a number of newsletter tools for Joomla and can highly recommend this product for anyone who requires a powerful and versatile newsletter broadcast tool.
New features promised in the next version, including CAPTCHA anti-spam technology, integration with JACLPlus and previewing of Smart Newsletter content BEFORE broadcast will complete this excellent product. |
