Allows you to run Open-Realty 2 as a component within Joomla.

Open-Realty is one of the best real estate listing scripts available. Even better it's free and open source. This component will allow you to integrate Open-Realty 2 into Joomla and have users syncronized between the 2 scripts. The Open-Realty admin area is incorporated into the Joomla admin area and it can also be accessed through the Joomla front end if desired. The component has most of the Open-Realty links pre-defined making it east to create Joomla menu items to each page. Custom parameters can also be set to allow direct linking to specific search terms and other items.

For more info on Open-Realty please visit http://www.open-realty.org.

Great Open Source Component by drew23, March 26, 2008

This is a great open source component for anyone looking for a non-commercial way of integrating real estate listings in Joomla! I must caution that this is not one of those polished components that simply require installing a zip file.

It requires an independent installation of open realty, a few hacks and a lot of patience. Yes it is complicated, but it beats paying a per site commercial license fee.

Only use if comfy in css and php by t17169, March 6, 2008

This seems to be the best out there in terms of robust performance, but it is NOT for anyone who is not comfortable working in code...not for a front end type user. And support is not too quick to come by and even when it is given, it seems to assume a certain level of proficiency with seemingly little patience for any below that level. Great if you're willing to persist, but be warned.

Can leap tall buildings in a single bound by ianmel, June 23, 2007
i've been running a real estate site for a few years now having started with a hand-coded CGI site then migrating it to joomla a year and a half back. it was a great move and although i found mostly what i needed in the real estate scripts here on joomla.org, i unfortunately had to leave behind some of the features i'd built into my hand-coded site (tho in fairness i gained a whole lot more).

however, i'm one of those always looking for better ways of doing things and when i recently had to setup an openrealty site for a family member it came into sharp focus what i was missing on my site... that is until i rememberd CMS Realty!

its been some work getting this powerhouse combination to live together (joomal+openrealty) and CMS Realty has pulled it off magnificently! sure there are issues during install but thanks to a great help of Mark Smith over at the open-realty forums, its doable and it works exactly as he prescribes. thanks mark!!!!

this combination has simply no equal. *nothing* i've seen comes close to this if you're running a real estate website in joomla but then again that's just my humble opinion, i could be wrong... :) now if only we could get someone to integrate activecampaign's newsletter program...

Extremely Complicated by cricket, May 11, 2007
I have been working on this for quit a while and I have determined it is too complicated to even load. First of all what you download from the site is an older version. The newer version doesn't seem to support Joomla. I know this one is free but if no one can get it working than unfortunately it is not worth it. Hopefully it will work with Joomla in the future. It is worth paying for one of the other ones lited in here.

The BEST combination for a Reality Site. by eculp, April 4, 2007
Joomla, CMS Realty and Open Realty. The space-age glue that puts this together is this extension CMS Realty.

I've used it since the beginning and haven't had to touch it. I'm now going to upgrade for the first time in more than a year and found it listed and decided to write a short review first.

I've checked out the other Joomla Real estate extensions and found them all lacking in comparison.

ENJOY,

ed

The front end works really well. That is, displaying properties, searching, details page, etc. I found some small issues integrating with joomla user registration, agent registration, etc.

Powerful Stuff by jjinks, September 14, 2006

I LOVE the open-realty script. It is so customizable that the possibilities are almost endless. This component does a GREAT job of integration. I have been using it for over a year and have had MINIMAL problems. The open-realty forum is also jam packed with mods and very active. I have used the script for car lots, properties for sale, inflatable games directory and restaurant menu. Hail to open-source.

Paypal add-on is also available.
