Free tagging component for your site. Just use in your content {tag [sometag]:[sometext]} or {tag [sometag]} and your new tag ([sometag]) will appear immediately in "tag cloud" module.
Component uses the same output as content blog, in menu item you can fit it the same way.
Whats new in V0.3?
* tags cache in database
* output parameters (ordering, number of tags to display,...)
* different weight for tags in tagcloud
Whats new in V0.31?
* multilanguage support
After installation you should start scanning content for creation tags table. For manual start you should enter component backend (look on time, that is used for rhis operation). If content of your site is stable - you could use only manual scanning, but we also created mambot for scanning scheduling (without any improvements in Joomla core)
Moved to Jootags Joomla 1.5 native Extension!

Once i had worked out that you have to create a menu link to the component, to access the settings for the blog output. this did exactly what i wanted....
If they sort out keeping tag id constant in the database, so you can create menu links to tag fed blog pages- this will then be a super powerful tool, essentially enabling content items to be in multiple catogories....
many thanks for a great set of tools...

Teething troubles by haggisbones, June 18, 2007

The tag cloud appears with the entries I've added ok. However, when I click a tag I get a load of "Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in ../joomla/includes/frontend.php on line 85" errors.
I've downloaded the 0.3 Module and 0.31 components and 2 mambots.
Would be easy to use and versatile if I could only get it to work :P

new version also does not work by compin, June 17, 2007

Installed the new version. The cloud does not appear. Also adding the module to some position breaks the design of the site by making the position 100% wide and deletes all other modules in the position

It works, but it doesn't by SuperGuido, May 26, 2007

I have the tags operational and working as it states however when it scans or when you scan it changes the html url
for example /simpletags/30.html becomes /simpletags/400.html and it makes it very difficult to create static links to the tag categories.
I have emailed questions to author with no response thus far.

when you look around a bit.
The com, mod and both bots do what they should, and produce a nice output. Be sure to download the whole package; I did not find them clustered together (missed out the mod, downloaded the wrong one first, but they are all there ;-)
If your ini file does not support the call time pass reference, you'll get an error. Add this to your .htacess file to make it work (that is if you don't have access to your ini file):
php_flag allow_call_time_pass_reference 1

I really want a tag that's working on my site... The same description this component promises... but I dont seem to get how this work... I did put the {tag player:somename} on my site but it is suppose to have an anchor link on the "player but it doesnt.
I really recommend it if only I could make it work.

Very nice and useful component, you can tag any post with unlimited number of tags, and then see all the posts under each tag. But I found two problems:
1. when you install the component it doesnt appear in the installed components list or in the components menu, so you do not even know it is installed
2. when you want to see the posts under one tag, the component assumes that you want to have one leading story and then 4 stories in two columns and then link to other stories. This can really mess up the template if you otherwise only have one column. Is there a way to fix this? Owner's reply: All this problems have been fixed, thanx for testing and reporting

Unfortunately the component in this download set isn't working. Uninstalling keeps the file in the directory. Tagging some content doesn't give a tag cloud or something and the component is missing in the 'installed components' or components menus. :( Owner's reply: Try new version

... but a little documentation in english would be fine!
After installation the Component is not listed under Administrator - Components, but it works with the {tag [sometag]:[sometext]}.
Is there a way to modify the Tags listing underneath the content?
I found the .class to modify the tag cloud but not the list. Owner's reply: try new mambot version, now its support tags listing and flexible tags output
