Web-Call-Back Module for Asterisk & SIP Servers
Web-Call-Back is the module for Joomla! that allows, in cooperation with VoIP Servers to perform a call back to a visitors provided phone number directly from your website. To make use of this extension one of the supported VoIP Server types (Asterisk or SIP compliant) is required.

The extensions settings allow fully customization of the messages, in multiple languages with JoomFish installed, and styling via CSS. It requires JavaScript on the client browsers side as it performs its work in client-server communication with the server side module in Joomla.

As overview Web-Call-Back allows:
* To enter any international phone number on the frontend
* Initiation of the call-back, either by internal extension first or
outbound call with transfer to internal extension (requires a
Asterisk or compatible PBX server)
* Fully customizeable messages for phone number form and status
messages of the module
* Date & Time rules to be defined to show the module only during
office hours or any specified period of times
* Show messages or hide the module when the internal extension or
the PBX system is offline and the call back is unable to get
performed.
* Output of debug information on communication with the VoIP Server.

In the Commercial Edition Web-Call-Back allows in addition:
* To use a SIP compliant Server for call origination
* To generate Email Notifications about failed, missed or
on all received Call-Back requests to allow easier follow up
* To create Web-Call-Back Links in your Content that may originate
calls to any Extension available on your VoIP Server

Excellent, but not for faint hearted :) by tayhow, June 22, 2007

This extension is quite an achievement.

It adds a professional facility that can encourage your potential or repeat customers to contact you *now*, initiated from your website.

As Michael says, you need to be reasonably technical to use it and I have spent quite some time working with Asterisk to feel confident.

Using Trixbox (Asterisk) with the FreePBX configuration utility seems a good option for those less experienced. It probably depends on your level of understanding of Linux, networking and telephony.

Restriction: If you use multiple modules on the same page, they may all update the same CSS 'span', but this can be edited around.

Ideas:

- Facility to restrict number being called to some pattern match eg to say landlines within your country, plus relevant error message feedback.

- Option to allow / disallow call-back to SIP addresses.

- Facility to select from a drop-down list of contacts that can call you back. eg Sales, Support, or regional offices. I guess this would need multiple contexts, one for each potential caller ??

Brilliant. I hope the developer has time to consider adding the additions suggested above.

Owner's reply:
The Commercial Unlimited License has added support for SIP Servers and clickable Call-Back Links allowing some of the features.
