If you are looking at Forum software you already know how much "Fun" they can be to install, manage, and customize.
Well get ready for something completely different. Agora is a breeze to install and setup. It looks great out of the gate. It is also super fast. I have run most types of forum software out there and I have to say I recommend Agora, by far hands down. With the level this app is at with only 2 months dev time, I think it will be a force to be reckoned with.

hi, i start to install agora foum yesterday, and its impresive.
all the options are easy and fast, the templates are beautiful, the sistem to create categories easy, asign user group in 1 minute, ranks faster to make, all costumizable, and the home page of the creator have the best response to the users and always try to help you.

I have used several forum components/bridges and stand alones next to my joomla site for better than a year now. We have about 1000 members in our online gaming community. After jumping ship from JB/FB to SMF (thanks to a converter) we have a nice forum, but it requires members login twice... so our forums don't get the traffic they used to.
Now, Agora has come along at just the right time... although the Dev "team" is rather small... things are getting done at blazing speed over at JoomlaMe and the Agora forum component is about ready to rock!
This one doesn't require a bridge, the groups work, the user ban works, the templates are a plenty and the Dev team is there day in and day out to answer questions and work on bug reports.
One of the biggest advantages to Agora is it's blazing fast speed... it's not a resource hog and doesn't require a dedicated server to run it in a joomla install.
I look forward to making the switch to Agora and will report back in a few months on how this one's coming along.

This is one of the better forums out there without the hassle of downloading additional bridges. Still needs a few bugs to sort out but support for this extension is excellent! Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing it grow! |

While the initial offering is lacking some in what it offers, it still is great. They call this a beta, but is runs better than other stable offerings out there. It is a no fuss fully integrated forum solution for Joomla, no bridges, no hacks.. just download and install. And what's better is that they are working on this and every day you can see improvements! I myself eagerly await the day this is completed, but until then, it is fun to watch it grow and develop! |
