DiggBot adds one of the new smart Digg buttons to each of your content items. This bot has the following advantages over other Digg bots listed on this site: 1) Detect whether the content already exists on Digg and provides either a Submit or Digging interface 2) Real-time Digg count for content already on Digg 3) Support News, Video, or Podcast content.

This works great for me. For those that want clicks to open in a new window, just look for the line that starts with digg_url= and insert digg_window = 'new'; on a new line immediately after it.

Really needs 'Open in New Window'..! by Orion2Sirius, January 24, 2008

I like this plugin and have just added it to my site. But I really have to stress my agreement with a few of the other comments here when it comes to opening Digg.com in a new window! The lack of this option via the back end is the only thing that actually disappoints me about this plugin to be honest!
Please update this with a back end "Open in New Window" Option asap..!! Doing so would make this the 'just about perfect' Digg plugin!! and also, Many of us I'm sure will be in your debt if you do decide to follow this through! Thanks in hopeful advance!! ;)

It's good...but needs some work... by gadabout, October 25, 2007

I like it...it's good...but why on Earth does it open Digg over my website? I should be opening it in a new window...that isn't hard to do in terms of programming...would be lovely if this was fixed...not sure I will keep using it when it's over-writing my site with the Digg site and visitors don't even have my site open in their browser window anymore...also...it's not finding the article at Digg very well...the user has to still search for it...

Great bot, but I would really like to be able to restrict it to only be active on certain sections and/or categories.
Can that be done?

Great Extension but has a Bug by swese44, March 10, 2007

Great extension.
However it always displays the Digg button on blog list views and the homepage, even though I have it set not to. It may be because I am using the Artio SEF plugin. I'm sure others using SEF plugins will run into the same issue, so you may want to find a better way of implementing it. It's not really a big deal though, since it always gives Digg the correct hyperlink. Owner's reply: hmm...I have not tested it with the Artio SEF plugin, but on my site if I turn of "Show in frontpage" it does not show the buttons on the front page. I'll look into this and see what I can figure out.

A good extension which supports new digg icons.
Except less control as you are unable to choose which content items the digg button shows as it will show on all pieces of website content.

Frontpage by hmrtk, March 8, 2007

Its exactly what i have been looking for, i waned to make one myself. The only problem that this plugin has is that it would only work when you set the "show in front page" to yes, and then it would place the diff button in frontpage and all the contents, however if you want to show it only inside contents, it wouldn't work. its better than you fix this problem. Owner's reply: If you set "Show in frontpage" to no, you should see the digg buttons everywhere except on the front page.

Installs and works without the problem. Maybe only one feature request - when you digg a story that has allready been dugg it would be better if you stayed on the page instead of being redirected to digg.com. Owner's reply: It would be nice to not be redirected to Digg.com...unfortunately, Digg does currently offer this as an option.
