 1.0.10 has just been released, including Many minor (and a few major) bug fixes... If you are using Joomla 1.0.14 or newer, you MUST upgrade to 1.0.10 for the login and other forms to work...
Well, this component WILL lower page load times for guest users. It will not effect page load times for logged in users in any way. Expect to see a VAST performance gain in busy sites (I have a site running with it that averaged 5 times as many hits before taking the server down).
For the BEST performance, I recommend php5.

When I installed this com I received a Javascript error "Operation aborted .." On IE7 and the page was corrupted, I disabled the this com, the Javascript error disappear.
Try to fix this!

Excellent addition to my website, and I need to add that this guy is like the GOD of technical support! When I installed the component a problem emerged because I've had an older version of Joomla installed. I contacted the author and he helped me in no time. The instructions were clear and thorough and I hope that we will have more people like him in the Joomla community. Mr. Ferrara thanks a lot once again! |

Ircmaxell's Page Cache Extension receives 5-Stars! My two sites receive thousands of hits per day. My Jokes and News site has over 6,000 pages. My load times are now 90% faster. I have been running Page Cache on my two sites since its release and there are no negatives to report at all. Its all GOOD. This really is a must have cache component for your Joomla site.

I tried to install this component on Joomla 1.0.12, PHP 5.1.6, mySQL 5.0.27 with Joomlaboard 1.1.5.2. Everything was smooth from the easy installation to configuration until I tried to access Joomlaboard then the page kept looping. Everytime I access Joomlaboard, the page keeps looping and making my site crashed. I had to uninstall this component because my users are using Joomlaboard. Hope this will be fixed in the next version. Thanks. Owner's reply: This is a bug with Joomlaboard, not this component. It can be solved with adding joomlaboard to the exclude list (disabling caching for the forum). |

After trying the first version and getting SQL errors on install, I tried the newest version at the authors request.
It installed wothout errors on the back end, but showed errors on the site pages.
Having said all of this, I have to say that ircmaxell is more than helpfull. He even went so far as to order a hosting account with my host in order to see what the problem is. You just can't get better support than that!
I am sure that he will be able to get it to work for me and the others who are having the same problem. I know that this will be a very usefull product and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to speed up thier site. It does speed things up, but as the description says, only for non-registered users.
Also, it waits for a page hit to renew the cache - so one of your users will have to wait quite a bit longer than others.
The speed increase (IMHO) isn't very noticeable either - at least not over the normal Joomla! caching. IMO it's not worth giving one of my users a much longer load time, especially because it does this for each page. 4-5 seconds to a broadband user seems unusual, and having to wait this long for each page visited is a pain (especially when a page load using the normal Joomla! cache takes about 1 second).
This could be great if it didn't wait for a page hit to refresh the queue - or if at the very least it refreshed all pages when it did a refresh. When the site's in the cache, it all loads very fast, but as soon as it expires from cache, the site seems to drag.
It has potential, but it sure needs work. Owner's reply: I had thought about refreshing the entire cache at once, but there's an inherent flaw in that: Almost all Joomla sites have at least 20 pages. Most have at least 100 pages. At 100 pages, and 1 second generation time, that's past the timeout time of php. Not to mention all the CPU cycles that are wasted on pages that will prob never be seen. I will consider this as an option in the next version. |

I'm very impressed by this component. It installed first time, and with the default settings is very effective.
I've installed it on three sites without any significant problems. The developer is obviously very skilled and careful (over careful?) with his documentation, as it was much easier to install than the docs might suggest. |

It's simple: This is a must have.
I don't have php5 and APC,and even so...it speeds up my site up to 15 times, and up to 35 times with wrapped pages.
I have a very slow connection and the difference is very obvious for me. For example, a wrapped page in Joomla loads in 11seconds.... with this component it loads in 0.31sec!!! Amazing!!
Very easy to install and configure.
And the support from the developer is excellent. |

Average load times on one site went from 2.5 seconds down to 0.05 seconds. All of my sites load about 25 times faster with this component. I have it running on several busy sites, and would not be able to support 1/2 the traffic I can now without this component!! |
