This component enables administrators to follow site members and give them the sense of being a family, by inviting them to visit the site if they don't login for long time, or asking them whether they face problems when logging to your site, etc... With Member Care System you can: 1. You can write your custom email subject and message in the configuration form. 2. You can provide a form, the same as the 'Lost Your Password?' form, for the inactive users to get their activation emails, whenever they want without any action from you. (see README.txt) 3. You can list the members didn't login to your site for some x days, where x ranges from 1 to y, and y is set in the configuration. And Order the list by absence days, never logged in members, username, name, register date and last visit date. and other features, read more on www.joomlareem.com Changes to ver 1.0.2: Newly Added Features: - Delete inactive users from MCS without the need to use joomla users manager. - All back end strings are included in the language files to be translated into any language. - Email subjects are now are customised the same as messages. Bug Fixes: - Fixed the MySql bug of DATEDIFF function. - Fixed the bug of "Fatal error: Call to undefined function: josgetarrayints()".
Editor's Note: - This extension requires registration to download.

I found it a great idea but lacking in any type of support. It is a good idea and would be better if the support where there for it. I had a problem emailed and never got a reply. Not a good way to promote your own program.

I think this simple tool is a great way to communicate to your users. I use it and I hope to increase returning users. Well done to the developer of this component.
Cheers

Just installed MCS v1.0.2 on Joomla 1.0.13 with Virtuemart and without CB. This product worked really great until I modified the configuration a couple of times. The configuration screen reverted to RAW code and I haven't been able to get it back to normal ever since. Emails going out are now only have a subject line but nothing else. Refreshing and clearing caches doesn't seem to make a difference. I haven't tried reinstalling yet to see if this will fix it. This component has great potential which is only let down by with what seem a few minor bugs.

| Works like a charm by Morktral, November 3, 2007 |

I just installed it and everything works fine. The email's are very easy to customize (even in other languages then English), because you can set them up in the backend.

I cannot thank the developer enough for his help and communication in getting this component to me whilst he is experiencing site issues.
All mails were replied to in a timely manner. The component installed straight out of the box and is easy to use. I can see the benefits of this for my community site and look forward to using it.
I would and have suggested however that this component should work automatically, or indeed have a frontend option for site admins that I do not grant backend access to. I think however automatic mails would suffice.
I hope this gets adopted for the next release.
Many thanks.

.... but like always there is a but! Today the website of the developer is not working at all, so I can not leave my wishes or problems there. I found some strange behaviour in the configuration, the language file DUTCH is incomplete and not working well. Besides this I have some questions about the working and options of the component which intent to be very very usefull! I hope we will get an answer from this developer soon... Owner's reply: Thanks for your review.
I'm sorry, this situation is out of my control.
My site was hosted by a very bad company, but I knew this too late.
Anyway, they don't want to give me neither backup of my site nor the domain name, because they are the registrant.
Anyway, I'm preparing to launch a new site soon.
Please, feel free to email me any comments or remarks, I'm checking the mail daily.

this component sounds really good, to bad you cannot use it unless you have mysql 4.1.1 or higher installed on the server.

This component works exactly as stated, plus some. It has a user friendly interface, and it is nice to be able to send a customized email to people that have not logged in for a while. The only problem I had was there is a function that only works in MySQL 4.1 or greater, and my server didn't have that. But it was good in the end, because I was able to get my server upgraded and now it works great. The programmer is very responsive to the forum on his website, and is willing to help if you have problems.
All in all, a very nice component!

I had use RAEmail 1.0.3 before which is written by the same author. I am happy to know that Member Care System even move a big step forward.
It is easy to install and use, recommend to give it a try.
Personally I love this component, another "must have" component beside JoomlaExplorer.
