 If you're using DOCman, you should try this add-on theme. It uses as many of your Joomla template's styles as possible, to obtain great visual integration. This way, DOCman look will match the rest of your site -- almost as if DOCman was created especially for you :-)
When using DOCman 1.4.0RC1, the theme is easy to install. In DOCman's control panel, click Themes, then click the Add button. Don't forget to set the theme to Default. You can also customize some settings.
This version has full support for DOCman v1.4.0RC1, and works with both Joomla! v1.0.x and v1.5RC3+.

This really makes DOCman look good. I still have a little tweaking to do to my own .css, but I think this really is the way forward, DOCman should ship with this as the default theme.
Just a note, if you have to manually install (pretty easy, ftp the unzipped package into the components/com_docman/themes/ directory) ***Make sure you change the filename from "mjaztools_blogtheme_v1.4.4" to just "mjaztools_blogtheme"*** I realize this is mentioned in the support forums, but I missed it and spent 20 minutes cursing, trying to figure out why it wouldn't set it as the default. Hope this helps somebody...... |

MjazTools BlogTheme turns DOCMan from an ugly duckling into an amazing component. I was really unhappy with the way docman presented the documents, and without an easy way of templating the default install it was a headache!
BlogTheme has done a wonderful job in elevating DOCMan to the hight that it deserves, hopefully DOCMan will be picked up by someone and developed further!

I have seen many Docman sites (including my own) that just didn't have the finished look quality to go along with the rest of the site. While Docman is a great component, it definitely lacks in graphic design.
This theme changes all that! I installed it on my site and was expecting to have to tweak it somewhat... but NO! It was drop-dead gorgeous right out of the box (as soon as I read the install instructions in the readme file and got it installed correctly).
Why o why did I not find this theme before I spent *hours* tweaking the default docman theme only to find this one is way better. |

Makes a huge improvement over the extremely average interface of DOCMan. If you want to take DOCMan from 'barely usable' to 'very usable', add this extension - it's the way the interface should have been designed from the start. |

I install this along with every DocMan install. It helps DocMan blend into the style of the site perfectly. It is also easy to configure this template even further, it did not take long to convert this to a tableless version.
I know a lot of people hesitate to try DocMan because the users cannot upload files - well Mjaz has also made another addon that makes that possible. Thumbs up. |
