ObjectClarity TimeWriter
ObjectClarity TimeWriter is a rewrite of the Mambotastic Timesheets system that is targeted at Joomla! 1.0.x. Features include front-end Company, Project and Project User administration. Also added to the front-end is a selection of single and multi-user reports. The primary calendar includes weekly and monthly subtotals and the ability to record mileage as well as time spent. The backend allows the site administrator to grant users permission to use the component and to nominate a TimeWriter administrator.
FYI: A Getting Started Guide has been posted on ObjectClarity.com
** New release version 1.0.2beta has been posted to the site. **
It includes fixed multi-user reports and a couple other minor corrections.
** New release version 1.0.3beta has been posted to the site. **

good but should be better by puremetal, July 10, 2008
Perhaps I'm spoiled by some commercial timekeeping services I use (and pay for), but this component needs a few little extra features before I would seriously use it for myself and pose a real alternative. However, I wanted to write a positive review as it is a brilliant starting point and I would love to encourage the developer to keep up the good work!

Great tool by bcolargol, September 4, 2007
I'm using TimeWriter to register all my time spent as a free lancer. It's working very well for me.

A 'nice to have' option would be to be able to grant access to my clients so they can see a report of time i have spent on their projects, without having to make them project admin. And, without them viewing a calender when they open timewriter.

It works well. by ausaec, August 23, 2007

Would be most interested to be able set certain users to view reports with all user information, but not timesheet entry.
IE would make good supervisors reports, which is what i need to be able to do to justify my working hours.
apart from that i love it.

Good timesheet component by mcorderoy, August 3, 2007

Good component, easy to install and get working. Only omission is that although it lets you track time mileage and parking it doesn't track other rechargeable costs (printing or postage). Having said that, very usable, good reports...

Cool calendar..but how does it works by jesusalc, June 5, 2007

Thay say can do miles and hours. Task management project blabla. So far I have only gotten the caledar to show on the front page but it does nothing. It keeps asking to assign a task to a project. Where ? I have not found any documentation about how to use this plug in.:(

Owner's reply:
Fair enough - there's no documentation yet. I'll post a "getting started" guide and let you know when it's available.

Just what I need by ALMARTIN2, May 29, 2007

Well done to the guys @ Object Clarity - this is a great component. I needed the ability to track time spent on projects from a administrator / advisors point of view without having to grant access to the back-end. Pair this with JACL and you've got a good solution.

Would like to see some extra controls over currencies, mileage options and maybe even integration with a mapping system linked to Community builder user addresses? But no compliants so far. Thanks.

Owner's reply:
Thanks for the feedback ALMARTIN2. We're very interested to hear other user's ideas with respect to enhancements - Drop us an email or submit them on the website and if they don't contradict our own plans for the component we'll take a serious look at them.

Regards,

-M
