great job! by togan, May 20, 2007
Before this one we can't find an extension for Joomla to do The author of SimplePin had made a great dicision to implement it into Joomla.

I tested it and can work with Turkish characters excellent and that is still a good component. I also had made a Turkish translation for it.

Hope the author will add more features like drag and drop, auto numbering, etc. into this wonderful component.

great idea!

Before this one we can't find an extension for Joomla to do such a job. The author of SimplePin had made a great dicision to implement it into Joomla.

I tested it and found some minor bug such as it can't work with Chinese characters properly but it is still a good component. I also had made a Chinese translation for it.

Hope the author will add more features like drag and drop, auto numbering, etc. into this wonderful component.

Reviewing the free component v1.0.

This is a fun idea but needs some work before it's ready for a production site.

1. The notes can appear partially off screen.

2. Although clicking the pin hides the note, the pin can be over another note. It would be useful to be able to drag the pin to move the notes around.

3. And when the background colour is clicked in edit mode it changes the note colour but clicking on the pin has no visual confirmation. In fact the pin can be dragged onto the note and the javascript code is inserted. This will confuse the average user.

4. Lastly, the notes can only be edited in the backend. Users should be able to edit and remove their notes.

So, overall, this component is ready to run on a home network but not for any of my clients.
