This guys support isn't good.. its GREAT!
He responds to questions on the forum in minutes, not days like other modules. Can't believe this is free...
I needed to use the module in a way that wasn't really what the author first intended. So I needed to make some hacks to it. And it was no problem, he gave me tons of help and was very patient with someone who is very new to joomla modules.
The module itself is massive, tons of work appears to have gone into it. There's all sorts of options and facilites.. And the output mails are class.. you can set it up to send out newly added article to any section, set up compilations/digests to be sent out weekly/monthly...put in you logo, add sidebar modules..
AND it has a frontend capability to allow users to send from the front end..
This is such a good way to keep your users aware of whats happening on your site.

The product is excellent & is exceeding my expectations!!
Not only the product features, but the support is above any imagination. In case of any difficulty posted in the forum, I got precise reply in few hours (most of the times in one to two hours). I will recommend this product to everybody.

Installs with no problem on j1.5, excellent support, and isnt too complicated. Very nice features, being able to output a module into the sidebar of a newsletter is a nice feature. I also like that I can send them anytime I feel, or let the component handle it on a day of the week I put in.
I found one little bug, and the support was awesome, I had a patch the next day. If you use this module, definitely buy the guy a latte macchiato!
Very glad I found this module, the only other one that does similar things was $123 american! The only thing that could make it better would be a Community Builder plugin, but hey I aint complaining!

Wonderful Add-On by joomer, February 28, 2008

Easy to install, easy to use. Works with the framework of Joomla to publish one or a collection of Joomla content into a newsletter that is e-mailed. The e-mail can be individual or you can specify the number of receipents to group into a single mailing, using the BCC for privacy. Customizable html e-mail envelop. Highly recommneded!

This is the best "Newsletter" Component if found. It's for the lazy people that write Content and don't want to write additional newsletters.
Great!

Little odd in the way you configure it this is still a jewel. Easy integration and bulk add of existing users.
For my use, automatic send-out of news every week, this was way better then any of the others I tried. Support patient and fast.

I have used many newsletter components. But this is the best newsletter component I have ever used. Even it is better than the commercial ones.
You can assign six module positions to the newsletter which is not exist in any other newsletter component. It is the best way to present your content and six module integration is highly enough for this. You do not have to have a cron job (which is mostly unsuccessful) for automatic sending. It has a better system of triggering mailings.
Upgrade is very easy and do not require any profession. You do not lose any information during upgrade and it is painless. This is very important for a working web site.
The only thing I have not tested it for subscribers more than 2000 or 3000. I hope it will also do that successfully.
For the ones looking for a newsletter component to send their content to the members or subscribers, try this without any hasitation.
Thanks Thomas for this excellent component and I will be waiting for the future versions impatiently.

Seems to work right out of the box. I only wish that you could schedule monthly mailing. But other than that it does a great job - and I really like the ease of updating the mailing template.

Still a great product . . . . . . but just a couple of points by spinfx, October 16, 2007

Really like the latest version and particularly the bulk add facility.
However, it would be a very useful addition to be able to import an email list that isn't already part of the Joomla Users - eg, I have to import a list of media outlets so they can receive regular news updates by email. I have a list of names and email addresses as a *.csv file and it would be great to be able to bulk import the list.
Second point - and no biggie - why not use the built-in Joomla! facility of displaying either title, introduction or full story rather than having to arbitrarily choose a cut-off point of XXX characters. This means that news could be handled more effectively and negates the risk of having a word or sentence truncated.
Just thought these would be useful points Thomas.
Keep up the great work.

Wow, this is brilliant. by HellasHaggis, September 4, 2007

Thank you very much. As a Joomla newby, I thought I would struggle to install and use the mailer, but following your instructions to install was a breeze.
I seem to have a problem with Hotmail and MSN addresses. They don't receive the subscription confirmation notification or broadcasts, not even to the Bulk mail folder of their accounts.
One other request that I would have is if you could create the "Veinge musik och data" link at the bottom of the subscription page to open in a new window?
Again, my sincere thanks!

Brilliant, but... by mrblonde, July 26, 2007

Great component but to make it useful in our environment the mailer needs to be able to send in predefined batches (i.e. not BCC). We've found from experience a few local ISPs are now limiting the number of emails they process at any given time in an effort to limit the recipients in spam similar to how Letterman processes mailouts.
Another good feature for the next version is an unsubscribe footer in the emails.
Look forward to future developments...

The extension is great. Works out of the box. The way it manages the newsletters is great, really simple. The only problem is that I can't use it. It forces the visitors to register completely to the site. There should be an option of only putting your email and BINGO... you can receive the newsletters. As in all mayor web sites. I hope the developers can see this and make the changes.
Thanks in advance. Owner's reply: Putting unsubscribe links in newsletters for guests would require unique mails to be sent to each guest-subscriber, not just bcc-copies of one mail as it is now.
Generating and mailing away thousands of unique mails, perhaps every hour, is hardly a task for a simple joomla component.
