i love it by jratunh21, July 8, 2007

Okay, so I don't understand what all the fuss is/was about in the previous reviews, but this is an excellent component. I configured it and set it up in less than 2minutes. Maybe because I have background experience, and I am a intermediate programmer, it was easier for me. Setting it up isn't difficult, ya just have to know what you are doing and have some sort of background experience! This is just what I was looking for cause I sure didn't feel like creating it in flash; although I can, it's time consuming! Great job!!

This is what I have been looking for :~) by flavorgrafix, March 29, 2007
I have installed it on my site & it works great! When installing, you must read the documentation. The actual install differs from the read me file though, I found that these steps may make things a bit more clear:
1)install the module (make sure you enable the module)
2)install the component
3) check module settings; auto play, path to popup (don't need to change) no real configuration needed here
4) Upload your MP#'s to the directory images/stories/music (must create the music folder)
5)In the Component, under Edit Playlist here is an example:
Filename or URL : images/stories/music/Akon_feat._Eminem_-_Smack_That.mp3
Title: Akon feat. Eminem - Smack That

The module needs to see the server based path to the music. This was a simple install for me, I hope my info will be helpful.

Now, on to customizing the player look, wish me luck.

The component installs Ok, but if I attempt to configureor add any files I undefined variable error messages in all of the scripts making it totally unusable.

Can't get it to work by tijs, February 9, 2007
This seems like a promising component but as with so many other extensions, what is the point of it if an average user would never be able to get it to work. As previous reviews said, how on earth are you supposed to actually embed an mp3 file in a particular article?

works fine for me by emotivedesigns, August 31, 2006
Got it working on my site and works fine ----- only thing i have to work out is poping this up as independent player so users can listen and move around site........

also would like it not to start playing untill the user chooses. not autoplay as this is set to no but still is.

good work though batman

Good (but instructions misleading) by blitz, August 9, 2006

I agree with others that the instructions aren't clear, but using this component is easier than it seems (from reading the instructions). At least with the current version, I didn't have to edit any xml files. The playlist can be built/edited entirely from the administrator interface and the XML file is created automatically.
To answer other questions, it installs as a component (even though the zip file doesn't currently have a "com_" prefix) and you embed it into your content by linking to the component.
Anyway -- it works great and was just what I was looking for -- a simple mp3 player with playlist capability.
Maybe future versions will be able to handle multiple playlists???

Disappointed by mesto, May 3, 2006
The look is great but functionality really bad. Instructions are very poor and miss some major aspects like how to actualy embed the player on page or how to modify xml file. For those unfamiliar with xml or Joomla newbies it might be real problem to work with it.

its ok.... by danes75, April 14, 2006

its designed nicely but kinda annoying to have to enter the song data into the xml file manually. not really sure what the admin interface is for since everything is manual. (There really doesn't seem to be Joomla/Mambo integration).

http://www.homocoit.us has a working version (only in firefox). click on Features then audioblog.
