I try many url rewriters but this one is the best in compatibility and efficiency

I really like this component. I have tried one other, which was good too, and found this one more powerful. I look forward to future versions providing support for more components (eg Joomap) and making it easier to identify the page you want to change meta tags on; I find it time consuming to have to keep looking for the non-sef URL. Perhaps once a custom URL has been defined, this is what can be used to identify the page in the backend for other activities such as meta tags.

Thanks for your positive comments. You don't have to look for the non-sef URL : go to the SEF URl list, select one and click on the New meta button to set all title and meta tags at once.

It creates excellent url's for virtuemart. Easy to install and use. I faced some problems with creation of meta tags for virtuemart but I am waiting for author's response to solve this little problem.

It fit exactly to my needs. You can configure it to show whatever you want. If the built-in components dont do what you want you still have the Custom Redirect option to do it manually.

YES!!! Thank you so much - this is what I was desperately looking for. Using artio Joomsef before I got into trouble of it generating multiple urls for the same content - real killer for SEO. Then I found this plugin and it works so great! Thank you!!! I almost lost hope joomla could have clean urls that are good for SEO!

Installed this on four sites. Three went without a hitch, the last just had a minor glitch. Installed it on one more and it did not work, but was probably fighting with something else I had installed (not on the other four).

Which leads me to my only complaint - just need some more plugins to make it compatible with more extensions.

Love that it automatically redirects so you can install it onto an existing site without a huge hassle.

I am new to Joomla and any programming languages. I´ve heard sh404 is great at SEF urls for Joomla! but I´m writing about the support that Shumisha there offers.

I got my site fixed (coz I hadn´t set up the config of sh404 properly) within about 30 minutes of posting on his forum and him responding to me through a series of about 8 posts. The instruction he gave was clear and easy to follow.

Excellent. The product is easy to work with and the URLs look cool too.

This extension does just what I wanted it to do, my only regret so far is that it doesn't seem to work with jEvents but I'm hopeful that it will be rectified soon.

How is it that such great talent in the field of computer coding lands here...? Years of MS must of "installed programing" in me to expect very little precise help with how and why software does what it does or how to modify it. I spent ten minutes reading in the forums about how to change the urls and clicked to this page. I then read through a few reviews of this persons program. Downloaded, installed and activated. uh....2 minutes 37 seconds. No I didn't read the instructions, what bricklayer reads more than 10-20 minutes a day.? LOL... the urls went from this: http://fx.mysite.com/index.php?option=com_weblinks&catid=2&Itemid=23
to this:
http://fx.mysite.com/index.php/Links/Joomla/ ...all VM cart pages too..

I had one nightmare after another with other SEF components — especially around the .htaccess file, which seems to be some kind of secret formula. With the alternative to dealing with .htaccess configuration, this component simply makes things happen and allows you to move on. Thanks a bunch!

For the past few days I have been in search of an SEF component that would work without a hitch on my website, and I was getting frustrated at the lack of any good components out there! OpenSEF was the first thing I looked at coz I had heard so much about it, but I just couldnt make it to work =(

But with sh404SEF, it was an entirely different story! For someone like me, who is so new to Joomla, it was a blessing in disguise! All I had to do was install, configure it to my liking and I was done!

I almost died trying to configure SEF on JOOMLA! but just as i was about to pull the trigger i got an inspiration about sh404sef installed it enabled it enabled sef in joomla ... and to my suprise ... it worked ... thank you for this amazing component i wish i can hug you!

I had been using OpenSEF for all my SEO until Joomla! updated it's version to 1.0.13 and it broke my OpenSEF... I can't believe I never noticed this before. The control you have over the URL's is much better than anything I've seen before. My only question is whether there was a way to completely remove the index.php out of my URL. Other than that, this component truly deserves a 5-star rating. Good work :D

Thanks for your positive review. To remove the added /index.php/ in the URL, you must setup a .htaccess file on your server. Having /index.php/ added in the URL allows you to not bother about this .htaccess file which can be tricky to setup properly. Please search forum here or at support site for more details on htaccess.
