On my system it worked straight out of the box but there is a problem in Virtue Mart whereby you cant change the number of products displayed on a page. Once this is ironed out it will be Excellent.

The installation and configuration was easy - the urls are now clear and great. Could be better support for import/export of SEO URLs but this is a minor issue. Certainly recommend this to everyone. The developer is also very responsive.

I am new to joomla and I usually suffer through pain before asking or looking for help. I wish I downloaded sh404SEF sooner. They did a super job. I felt like I was chasing a ghost with openSEF. All of my problems for weeks were linked back to openSEF. Buggy. Unpredictable and most of all pages disappear, menus disappear and no help can be found. Save your self the pain go with sh404SEF.

Unlike many other good open-source projects with no or poor user-support, sh404SEF's user support is very very good.

I got all my answers and 99.99% problems get solved.

I didn't have to mess with the htaccess file, I didn't have to do anything.
GREAT component - a new favorite.

It's a good extension. It works good for me.
There's just a few things i observed:
- many typo's in the popups(ex: the one from "301 redirect www/non-www?" has improper sentence structure, i didn't get anything from that)
-i did find some duplicated content
-doesn't handle the archive section at all, you should add that(very important)

Here's a bug i could only find at my site(gameprogramming.no-ip.org)
The Tutorials Menu item from the Links menu was mapped as /tutorials/tutorials, and it was also mapped as /links/tutorials.

Im very new to Joomla and to be honest im still a little scared of it because there is so much to it. When i asked for a recommendation on the forum for which SEO mod this one was recommended.

So, a little nervous i downloaded it, unzipped it, read the instructions and uploaded it. I then got the Success message so i enabled it, opened up the front page of my site and with virtually no intervention by me, all of my pages showed the .html extension. I couldn't believe it! Could this be more simple?-I think not!

I would like to start out by saying that I'm not an expert with Joomla, but I know how to get around for the most part. I thought that this component was really easy to install and it didn't take me long at all to get it to work. It was very intuitive and the url's look really really good! Thanks!!

It was simple to install, and the documentation was easy to understand. I turned the com on, and made the change in the Joomla Global Configuration settings, and everything worked as advertised. Great stuff folks. Thanks!!

The best component for Seojoomla on the web. USeful, stable adn easy. Thank to Shumisma. I would like only a implementation with Joomla core to modify title and meta from contents panel. No one do better.

If want it easier, somebody will have to do it for me!

With this component I've been able to get perfect URLs for my site in italian, english and spanish languages in less then 1 hour!
You can fine-tune every url (say goodbye to 'index.php?') and the speed is excellent.
To be honest it's my first try with SEO and don't know about the other competitors, but whith sh404SEF you can't be wrong for sure!

It's really great, I simply installed this component, activated in component configuration, and activated SEF support in Joomla global config... And my URLs becomes SEF, fully working, and also with VirtueMart component!

Right after installing this product I received a No Input File error message after clicking on one of my urls and I started to think that I had made a mistake. After reading through the documentation and changing a few settings, however, I realized that this product works like a DREAM! When you install it, please know that you have to set up a few things correctly before it will work. Here is what you need to know:

1. Make sure that you have enabled the Joomla default SEF system by activating it in the Site/Global Configuration area AND make sure that you have renamed the htaccess.txt file to .htaccess.

2. Make sure that you change the .htaccess file to what is specified in the sh404SEF documentation. They show you exactly how it should look.

3. Make sure that you go the Advanced tab for sh404SEF (Components/sh404SEF. Click on the 'Click here to switch to extended display (with all available parameters)' above the logo on the right or you will not be able to see the Advanced tab.

4. I wanted to use the .htaccess option so I used that setting under Rewrite Option on the Advanced tab. I also set the Guess ItemId and Insert menu items to No.

5. Enable the component.

That was it. My urls worked perfectly. Hope it works just as well for you. Make sure you read the documentation. This product is just great, great, great!
