The best component for Seojoomla on the web. USeful, stable adn easy. Thank to Shumisma. I would like only a implementation with Joomla core to modify title and meta from contents panel. No one do better.

With this component I've been able to get perfect URLs for my site in italian, english and spanish languages in less then 1 hour!
You can fine-tune every url (say goodbye to 'index.php?') and the speed is excellent.
To be honest it's my first try with SEO and don't know about the other competitors, but whith sh404SEF you can't be wrong for sure!

It's really great, I simply installed this component, activated in component configuration, and activated SEF support in Joomla global config... And my URLs becomes SEF, fully working, and also with VirtueMart component!

Right after installing this product I received a No Input File error message after clicking on one of my urls and I started to think that I had made a mistake. After reading through the documentation and changing a few settings, however, I realized that this product works like a DREAM! When you install it, please know that you have to set up a few things correctly before it will work. Here is what you need to know:

1. Make sure that you have enabled the Joomla default SEF system by activating it in the Site/Global Configuration area AND make sure that you have renamed the htaccess.txt file to .htaccess.

2. Make sure that you change the .htaccess file to what is specified in the sh404SEF documentation. They show you exactly how it should look.

3. Make sure that you go the Advanced tab for sh404SEF (Components/sh404SEF. Click on the 'Click here to switch to extended display (with all available parameters)' above the logo on the right or you will not be able to see the Advanced tab.

4. I wanted to use the .htaccess option so I used that setting under Rewrite Option on the Advanced tab. I also set the Guess ItemId and Insert menu items to No.

5. Enable the component.

That was it. My urls worked perfectly. Hope it works just as well for you. Make sure you read the documentation. This product is just great, great, great!

I'd give this component 8/10. It's an excellent SEF url tool, and I managed to download, install and configure in the space of 15mins. That included looking at all the pages, marvelling at how easy it was.
However, the back-end is a little scruffy, but everything is there. There is no advanced tab as mentioned in the installation confirmation screen.

Otherwise, a fantastic tool, and hopefully will improve search hits for a site already doing quite well without SEF urls...

Hope you will get the search hit bonus, and glad it was easy to set up. You will find the advanced tab only if you switch the interface to Extended display. The switch link is on the top right corner of the main control panel. Doing that will also bring up a whole bunch of additional parameters.

I tried Artio (and others) but could not get the htaccess to work well due to using an SSL site. Sh404 works perfectly and no htaccess modification is required (optional). Many parameters for customization make it very helpful. Nice addition is the option for numerical digits to assist with Google News insertion- the digits can be chosen to be added by category. The Google bump took about 4 days to see improvement in SEO (with the usual dip for the first two with all of those new URL's). I'm glad I did it- Google seems to like it. Nice work!

Thanks for this great component! however for multi-lingual sites especially those with UTF8 setting, it'll have to choose URL encode to practice category name into SEO. But since category is not english, then the URL will became like these "%A%9%B.."

it's because that joomla doesn't allowed alias name for section or category! so it's better to have such an option:
use section or category ID rather than name to practice URL rewriting!

This component makes SE friendly links on the fly and creates meta tags that work really well for SEO. It does not slow down my website with 900 products in VirtueMart. Now if we can only get a plugin for mojoBlog I would be very grateful!!
