SEF Service Map
Position your site in the Internet!
SEF Service Map is a component, which task is to create a complete sitemap. Beside being fully compatible with standard Joomla! components (articles, RSS headlines, links, contacts). SEF Service Map is the first (from sitemaps) open component - it allows integration with other components like galleries, forums, catalogs and others, thanks to built-in integration mechanisms.

SEF Service Map does create not only a standard sitemap, but also sitemaps compatible with the sitemaps.org standards:
- XML map (e.g. for Google maps);
- TXT map (e.g. for Yahoo maps);

These are a few of the additional functions of this component:
- it uses its own cache, so it reduces server load;
- it allows individual settings of the integrators for each menu item;
- you can include/exclude any menu or menu element from the sitemap;
- creating shortened descriptions for the sitemap items;
- you can turn on/off the loading of icons;
- definable CSS styles;
- multilanguage support;

Some of the components fully compatible with SEF Service Map:
- Fireboard,Joolmaboard, SMF Forum (joomlahacks.com bridge);
- DocMan, Remository;
- JCal PRo, ExtCalendar2;
- RSGallery2, Zoom Gallery;
- SOBI2;
- Virtuemart;
And others.

SEF Service Map Provides the Most Control Over Your Sitemap by kenmcd, October 30, 2007

There is no other sitemap component which allows you to enable or disable specific Joomla content categories or items. The control over components via the mambot plug-in VERY helpful. This is the best Joomla sitemap component! The integration with SOBI2 is VERY useful. All your directory entries are available in an SEO friendly way. Very good for SEO reasons. Please add to this add-ons' JED rating now. Try this Joomla add-on now. It works.

Fabulous component! by allegra, October 29, 2007
I have a hard time to understand why here is complaints about this component! I tested about all the others outthere who never did the full job, for different reasons and suddenly this one, with all the plugins I needed, gave me a TOTAL full sitemap of my site + the XML for Google. And frankly, with a bit of HTML knowledge, it is no problem to customize. The links at the bottom (XML and text) are so easy to get rid of in the files. Also, the control panel allow you to set about everything: Mara - the icons...just set in the control panel to off .....

I don't see ONE negative point with that component, after searching a long time, this is THE BEST. Period. Just read all the functions and you will see that you can do anything you want. enable menu, disable...

So a huge thanks to the developers!

This is a great component. Just be careful, by default it publishes everything in every menu. If your site doesn't use the top menu, but all you have done is unpublish the menu module, it will show up in the site map. Make sure that you go into back end and configure SEF Service Map component and turn it off there. You can also put the code "index.php?option=com_sefservicemap&Itemid=53" into the bottom of your site template's index.php file. No user manual required. (Your code may vary. Consult your local developer.)

suggestions ... by mskiby, August 25, 2007
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:
not everyone using these plugins are pro joomla developers ... a couple of things with this plug that was not obvious.

1) it was necessary to modified the .htaccess with a couple lines which is posted in the forum, this should be in the install setup info
2) it was not obvious where the actually file was located, or what line of text you needed to paste into google maps.

3) i still have no clue how to setup or utilize the yahoo sitemap portion of this component. anybody have any info?

other than that, it's using the SEF title and is easy enough to restrict which pages you want to be listed or not in the sitemap ... along with other small modifiers.

thanx for making this SEFsm

Great component (version 1.03) works with Joomfish by ocotrade1, July 26, 2007
This is a very good component (version 1.03) just what I was looking for.

Just an advice for those using Bilingual sites with Joomfish. If you want to have site map specific for your languages, just add the following code at the end of the SiteMap URL:

&lang=es (for spanish)
&lang=en (for english)

You will then have two versions for your sitemap one for each language.

A couple of concerns by maxa, July 7, 2007
4 of 4 people find this review helpful:
Tried it out and was disappointed that there is no option to take out the image that is included into each link. It would be better from an SEO point of view to get rid of those images (icons).

Also, there is a link to the developer's homepage in the bottom of the page. That is okay in most cases, but on a sitemap, there should be no external links if we are speaking strict SEO.

Does the job | Good Support by rainbaron, June 25, 2007
I needed an additional site map, so tried SEF service map. Installed fine, configuration easy, then a problem with iJoomla. Emailed the developer Radoslaw and within 3 emails my problem is sorted. I like this extension cos it's easy to follow, plus when a developer can respond quickly to questions that a bonus. Recommended.

Use it as Google sitemap by mymykry, June 20, 2007
I had trouble creating Google Sitemaps with other solutions, but the XML output of SEF Service Map works fine.
So if you want to use this as a search engine sitemap only, just install the component and the included mambots (plugins), add mambots for 3rd party extensions (e.g. remository), publish the mambots, adjust SEF Service Map settings (in components menu) and finally submit http://YOURSITE/index2.php?option=com_sefservicemap&task=xmlmap&no_html=1 as sitemap address to the search engine.

Works well by mcelligott, June 6, 2007
My site is not really centred around traditional joomla content categories and sections. Much of my content is generated through a component (hot property). The only reason I really wanted a site map was for search engine indexing of all my properties. This was the first site map component that could deliver this cleanly. It seems very well written and a query I posted to the forum was answered within the hour so you gotta be impressed with that. It also has a very welcome caching feature which is essential when your site map involves hundreds or more pages.
