Mod_HTML allows you to Add Any HTML or JavaScript code to your Mambo or Joomla Website CMS via a module.
Why use mod_html?
1) mod_html allows you to add any html or javascript to your modules withought having to change any settings in your Mambo, Joomla CMS.
2) You can copy the module in the admin panel, for quick clones of an advertisement or banner ad
3) mod_html allows you to add google adsense code directly to your site, just copy and paste from your google adsense account page.
Use mod_php if you need PHP code directly in modules.

A great little module for dropping bits of code around your site. Using the copy function in site modules you can produce lots of copies, assign them to different menus and site positions. A really simple way of putting ads on your site.

Very easy to use, so much easier than any other banner-component/module that I've tried. Can really recommend it! You just copy the script into the module and publish it. No need to create categories and stuff.

Joomla already has this capability built in! I have done this form a new joomla installation without hacking anything!
All you need to do is go to site -> Module-> New and create your very own module with al the features and parameters that you want.
You guys need to learn joomla more to see everything that joomla can already do.
Please tell me what you think! Owner's reply: I believe you have missed the point of mod_html (which is not a hack, its a module).
1) Insert HTML/CSS/JavaScript without changing any Joomla settings. (eg: disabling the WYSIWYG editor)
2) It is an extension (not a hack). So a n extension developer can use it for their custom purpose. see: mod_php, bot_php, com_custompages etc.
Most users are aware that they can create a new content module. The convenience of cut and paste HTML/CSS/JS is what they are after.

I skipped over this extension at first, because I wasn't using Google AdSense, but after reading the description more carefully and searching the forum, I realized it was exactly what I needed. I'm using it for the footer on my site (where it holds copyright information, Amazon code, information about the site, and my web counter), an acknowledgment I received from a source on one of my articles (attached to a "fake" menu item, so it only shows up on that article), an announcement on my front page... This is a great tool!

Simple module that makes a big difference by seducemen, April 9, 2007

This is a simple looking module, at first glance you wonder if it is limited in what it can do. But it was simple to use and meant I replaced other modules by using this. I used to use Adsense Joomlaspan but with this module being so easy to use I just got rid of Joomlaspan. I can now also use it to insert other bits of html and javascript in various areas of my pages.

I'm not sure why they titled it what it is. Yes, it works great for adding Adsense, but so much more as well. Like Click Pledge, Sitepal, and any other html source.
I highly recommend this module for making life easier. And, 0 problems so far!

Most essential Joomla plugin! by ztorgo, March 15, 2007

mod_html is by far one of the most useful modules I have used during development of many Joomla sites. I use it for lots and lots of different uses.
The only bug I've found is that the module seems to interpret hidden CR characters in the HTML source as actual line breaks. I wish it would just automatically trim those characters off so that I don't have to worry about them affecting the appearance of various items. I found this when implementing a Google site search button and had tons of extra whitespace in the module. Removing the CR characters fixed the issue, but does make the html a little harder to view.
Other than that minor bug, this is a great great module.

I used this module to insert the google analytics script into every page of my website, and it worked perfectly. Within a day google had starting producing reports about all of the traffic on my site.

Almost perfect by shirster, December 20, 2006

This module is almost perfect, the only complaint I'd make is that it inserts tags automatically, which I totally didn't expect given that I was supposed to insert all HTML codes into this module myself... Owner's reply: mod_html does NOT insert any tags automatically. It only displays the HTML you insert.
