The component is excellent. The only real problems I see are the lack of a save/apply button on the "Add Album/Single" administrators panel, and that there isn't a more direct upload for the artists themselves.

I'm hooked, and will be on board to help as needed...but hope that this continues to grow, because I have a client that is greatly interested in this process.

I like this component it is great, I love all the AJAX and stuff. I was thinking that users could make their own page as artists. That would be a cool idea.

I think the developer has a great thing going here! I'd also like a companion module, and I'd like to be able to format the description text for a single so that I can add a tune's lyrics. OTHERWISE... thank you so much for this component! It adds fun functionality to the music section of the kids site I run. The internet is a visual medium, and yet the other music components available for Joomla are basically embedded mp3 players that you'd see on MySpace or a million other sites. I've had fun setting up this component, and I can't wait to launch a rich, full-featured new addition for my kids to enjoy. Grazie!

Thanks for the nice component. Top marks for ease of use and its solid look. One problem for me is i can see no way to add an artist/album/record label via the frontend. Your support forum is in Italian (obviously) and i can't speak italian. Is there something im obviously missing here?

Hi, I use this comp now about 2-3 days. Its very usefull and easy to install and use... complimets to the coder ::WOOW::

But, I have one little problem with this component... The Voting and Comment system witch is given with this comp. dont work. I can vote and write comment how offen I want. It dont be saved by the system. Anyone had this problem too? Any fixes avaible for this problem?

I was going to do a little hacking to a directory component to give me the functionality that this extension has right out of the box.

Problem: create a directory of advertisers for a radio station, including a player for the radio ads as MP3s, preferably without the user having to download. Oh yeah and if we could do video ads that would be super awesome.

Solution: MusicBox... out of the box! The only little thing I did was change "artist" to "advertiser", "album" to "ad series" and "song" to "ad"... via english.php... and BAM! Front end and back end, totally fits my project.

I went to joomlaitalia.com to try to find a donation button! I couldn't find one, and I don't speak Italian... so if someone could let me know how I can support this project that would be great. Maybe I'll just send cookies...

I find this to be a great component but it wont work well with Firefox. I have to be hovering over the song to keep it playing. In IE it works fine.

I have Version 1.0, how do upgrade, just delete the component, will it delete the info in it?

No, data will be not lost, only overwrite files into relative directories. No db table touched.

I just found this component yesterday and decided to give it a test run. After playing with it the last 24 hours or so, I have to say this is a great little component! It installed easily and was pretty easy to use once you figure out how the various groupings relate to each other.

It could use a bit of work, and a companion module or two, to be really great, but even as is, it's a wonderful little product.

Some of the changes I'd like to see have been mentioned by others. The ability to be able to set the order the songs are listed in an Album, instead of using the default descending sort on Song Title, being a very useful change. There's a few minor changes in English Language usage that could still used to be cleaned up also. Also staying more consistent with the terminology. But those are minor points and don't involve how the function works.

I did have problems getting video files to play using the video player. Not sure what's up with that, the video portion kept disappearing, even though you could still here the audio. I'll have to play with it some more to be sure its not something I am doing wrong though.

I really think this component could grow to be one of the better components ever conceived for Joomla. Especially for those of us running Music Oriented sites. I've not seen a better alternative to this yet, and I've experimented with everything I could find so far. Yeah, it needs to be fixed up a bit. The Main Component page that displays the "Categories" breaks my Template for some reason, but again, that can be fixed.

Here's hoping the developer continues on with his idea here. This is one Component I'll be keeping my eye on for future development. ;)

I really love this component. Did almost exacly what I needed.
1. It would be great if you could set the order of the songs after you entered them.
2. I had some issues uploading mp3 files but I just used joomlaxplorer (you should look into that)

Not perfect but I still give it Excellent because it saved the day for me.

Uploading problem partially fixed in 1.0.2 release (but i think is better upload big files with a Ftp client)
