Exposé is a Flash-based tool which allows you to create eye-catching slide shows of your pictures on the web. A list of the features supported by exposé includes the following:

- direct linking to a photo or album
- a slide show can be automatically started
- a background/foreground image can be loaded
- more interface elements can be now customized
- album Manager nows uses Joomla Authentication
- smoother Interface
- iframe has been removed, full php integration
- easier to adjust the size using only the expose.html.php
- improved background color adjustments
- check_system.php script added for troublshooting
- supports SEF URL's (being re-worked currently, limited functionality)
- upload/add background image through Joomla backend

The small footprint of the Flash clips and an intelligent loading of resources allow even dialup users to have a seamless experience viewing your photos. exposé is FREE for personal use.

The PHP Album Manager has very strict system requirements but is not needed to add new pics to you gallery (this is just another option if you have these extensions on your server). You can also install the Windows (or Mac) Album Manager found here: http://www.slooz.com/trinkets.php

After you have downloaded the Album Manager login to your server via FTP and change directory to [JoomlaRoot]/components/com_expose and copy down the expose folder to your desktop or anywhere you know where to access it at. Lastly, open your Newly installed Album Manager and it will ask you where you expose folder is, just point it to that folder and you can edit away.

After you are done when you close the album manager it will ask you if you would like to save your configurations, Click "YES" and then re-upload the folder and you are all set. Create a Joomla Menu pointing to that component and it will look awesome!

I've used this a couple of times on some personal sites, and I have to say it is simply a nice extension. Layout is customizable with even more things than I need, but still simple to use. I would love to use this for embedding videos from say youtube or google somehow.

You can embed a video, but you can use sites like http://vixy.net/ and then just upload that FLV video to your expose gallery =)

though it looks like nice, there are issues with sef. Every site needs SEF to be recognized by the search engines like yahoo and google...this product falls short on this.
Even though they say it works...

Well I tried to install latest version on Joomla 1.5.2, but for some reason Gallery on frontend did not work. Try to fix this with help on the forum, but suggestions did not help. Not have so much time to correspond with my hosting provider back and forth, so I install version 4.6.2, which works without flaws.
So only 4 stars, normally it deserve 5.

I've been working with this software for only a week now, and I had it up and running within the night.

This software will make your website look professional very quickly. I also use their beta software called "Expose 4 Image Scroller" which I also recommend even though they're still working out the bugs.

This develop doesn't charge for its software, or the user manual. All-in-all, this developer gets a 10/10.

This is a great extension. thank you for your work and sharing it with us. Would be great to see more features such as (multiple colum layout for albums - currently if you have more than 4-5 albums on one level, you have to click the scroll button at bottom). Not complaining. thanks again and all the best.

Took me a while to get this running, but only because my server was missing some essential php modules. Had to install php-dom, php5-xmlreader and php5-xmlrpc. Once installed it runs really well. Really neat, and smooth transition between menus.

This component installed beautifully and the front end demo looked stunning. unfortunately that's as far as I get. I can't access the album manager no matter what I try. I just can't log in. Reading the info It looks like a compatibility problem with my server so for now I've had to ditch it. It's a shame, it looked very promising. :((

I went through pretty much all the photo galleries and found this to be the best. Another plus point is that it supports videos, so you don't need another video gallery component. Don't spend your money on those commercial components.

Try Expose and you'll be amazed !!!

good at frontend, no good at backend by mclaurie, March 5, 2008

in terms of frontend, i guess this is one of the best album in Joomla. More, installation is easy. However, the backend is so poor that the configuration is too difficult to do. The most disappointing point is that it never allows sorting of photos and albums. It's a kind of tragedy to have many photos uploaded but have to rearrange the order one by one. This is an issue for many months but no one tackles.

this component (com_expose_4.6.3alpha)is potentially the best around at this stage for a gallery in joomla1.5
pretty straight-forward to use with a very sophisticated and customizable layout.
I feel there are some bugs in the upload section.
hopefully it is a problem of the alpha version.
I look forward for the newer release.

I tried many gallery components, always had some problems. I have no much time to fix every error in components I download, so I was looking for something that really works...
This is the first component that looks great, easy to install and had no problems with my sites.

A beauty, and simple too!
Worked with this in Joomla 1.0. Now I upgraded to joomla 1.5 and I have problems! First I saw all of my images for two hours, now I see none! I reinstalled the module, no result. I rebuilded my website and i had muy pictures again, for 2 hours... while doing nothing. I can not find the solution. I Hope someone else has. Cause I love this module but i'm not going to downgrade my Joomla site for this.
