Expose Flash Gallery
Exposé is a Flash-based tool which allows you to create eye-catching slide shows of your pictures on the web. A list of the features supported by exposé includes the following:

- direct linking to a photo or album
- a slide show can be automatically started
- a background/foreground image can be loaded
- more interface elements can be now customized
- smoother Interface
- iframe has been removed, full php integration
- easier to adjust the size using only the expose.html.php
- improved background color adjustments
- check_system.php script added for troublshooting
- supports SEF URL's (being re-worked currently, limited functionality)
- upload/add background image through Joomla backend

The small footprint of the Flash clips and an intelligent loading of resources allow even dialup users to have a seamless experience viewing your photos. exposé is FREE for personal use.

The PHP Album Manager has very strict system requirements but is not needed to add new pics to you gallery (this is just another option if you have these extensions on your server). You can also install the Windows (or Mac) Album Manager found here: http://www.slooz.com/trinkets.php

After you have downloaded the Album Manager login to your server via FTP and change directory to [JoomlaRoot]/components/com_expose and copy down the expose folder to your desktop or anywhere you know where to access it at. Lastly, open your Newly installed Album Manager and it will ask you where you expose folder is, just point it to that folder and you can edit away.

After you are done when you close the album manager it will ask you if you would like to save your configurations, Click "YES" and then re-upload the folder and you are all set. Create a Joomla Menu pointing to that component and it will look awesome!

This component is a bridge to the Expose Gallery found here http://www.slooz.com This bridge is released as GNU/GPL but expose is under its original author's license agreement found here, http://slooz.com/trinkets.php?proj=expose If you have any questions please feel free to leave comments and/or suggestions in the forums listed below.

Best Media Gallery !!!! by Dhanu, March 18, 2008
I went through pretty much all the photo galleries and found this to be the best. Another plus point is that it supports videos, so you don't need another video gallery component. Don't spend your money on those commercial components.

Try Expose and you'll be amazed !!!

good at frontend, no good at backend by mclaurie, March 5, 2008
in terms of frontend, i guess this is one of the best album in Joomla. More, installation is easy. However, the backend is so poor that the configuration is too difficult to do. The most disappointing point is that it never allows sorting of photos and albums. It's a kind of tragedy to have many photos uploaded but have to rearrange the order one by one. This is an issue for many months but no one tackles.

Fantastic by stonep, February 25, 2008
Was looking for a gallery that is free and 1.5 compatible and this is just the ticket, it's fantastic!!

Looks brilliant and very simple to use!!!

10/10 Keep up the good work.

best around but with bugs ? by mak1776, February 25, 2008
this component (com_expose_4.6.3alpha)is potentially the best around at this stage for a gallery in joomla1.5
pretty straight-forward to use with a very sophisticated and customizable layout.
I feel there are some bugs in the upload section.
hopefully it is a problem of the alpha version.
I look forward for the newer release.

Easy and it WORKS! by Aragorn, February 21, 2008
I tried many gallery components, always had some problems. I have no much time to fix every error in components I download, so I was looking for something that really works...
This is the first component that looks great, easy to install and had no problems with my sites.

Excellent work guys!

Beautifull but can not get it to work with Joomla 1.5 by mrcoffee, February 17, 2008
A beauty, and simple too!
Worked with this in Joomla 1.0. Now I upgraded to joomla 1.5 and I have problems! First I saw all of my images for two hours, now I see none! I reinstalled the module, no result. I rebuilded my website and i had muy pictures again, for 2 hours... while doing nothing. I can not find the solution. I Hope someone else has. Cause I love this module but i'm not going to downgrade my Joomla site for this.

Beat my expectations to implement by robaer, February 12, 2008
I spent a lot of time reviewing different gallery apps and narrowed it down to this one and the smooth gallery + lightbox one. I implemented both on 2 different websites and am happy with choices.
Expose strengths are it is dead simple to install and configure. I spent 20 minutes flipping through the install manual, couple of clicks from within the Joomla installer and I was loading images and viewing them through the site. I was worried having reviewed some of the forum comments, but on 1.0.13 it works right out of the box. I am also using GoDaddy as a hosting provider and no problems with any of the php settings from default.
The app is slick, works exactly as advertised and is even easier to install than I expected. The doc is very complete particularly compared to other Joomla Extensions and I found this to be a pleasure to install and setup.
It handles video... pictures... sound bites (although I haven't tried those yet). Good looking flash viewer.

A must have for any Joomla sites ! by LuckyPip, February 12, 2008

Great component, been using it for couple years now - getting easier and easier to play with every updates !

But I have a little suggestion which would make a great addition - it would be great to be able to navigate from within showpic.html - with a previous and next buttons, to show the other images from the same album

Hopefully I'll see that pop up in future updates *hint hint* ;)

By the way, keep up the good work - thanks

Too hard to modify by pheadrus, February 6, 2008
So wonderful design for a image gallery, but...
Required modification level is so high. Flash-based application writer is not available @snooze.com. Support quality is so poor @gotgtek.net. So i've given 'fair' rating. If this component will be commercial, i will rate is with -10; but it has GPL. So decided to rate it as fair.
My first impression was positive, but after hard work to modify it and its related swf-files, i decided not to use it for my web sites.
Pls, keep this poor component alive!(With donating or helping with codes) It has the potential to be the one, all Joomla-lovers need...
Thanx a lot to the writer, anyway :)

Just great! by Mule, January 24, 2008
I have been using Mambo/Joomla for a few years now and in that time i have never been quite satisfied with the galleries that are out there.

This is just fantastic. It is very easy to use and i love the way it looks. I found myself all within a few minutes of using it wondering how i could get a preview thumbnail up thinking that would be nice if it do that and guess what there it is staring me in the face.

I would have paid money for something this good and the fact it is free makes the perfect gallery add on for any site.

Great stuff and many thanks for a great piece of software.

Great stuff by Obalix, January 22, 2008
Installed it, uploaded the images and all was OK. The only small criticism is that the configuration of the application is not as nice as it could be. However, once you got it the layout configured it runs perfectly.

Fantastic Gallery by SteppedUp, January 16, 2008
Component based - very, very easy to use.

Installed with no problems even though I'm running a little older version of Joomla. Loved the admin interface.

I've already tried SG (template conflict), Extreme Pics (ugh- no English, JSN Image Show (some sort of extension conflict - and it seems to be some issues with updates from admins on their forum).

Now, that I've been exposed to Expose - never going back!

Great component .... a must have for every Joomla site ! by ccattani, January 15, 2008
Great component, works great in my site ! For professional looking sites, use Exposé !

A god concept! by flightsimpsycho, January 14, 2008
A very good concept, the only thing that let me down was my server wasn't compatible.

I did like the component though and other users shouldn't shy away from giving it a try.

The software was un-installed clean.

Good Job!
