Expose Flash Gallery
Exposé is a Flash-based tool which allows you to create eye-catching slide shows of your pictures on the web. A list of the features supported by exposé includes the following:

- direct linking to a photo or album
- a slide show can be automatically started
- a background/foreground image can be loaded
- more interface elements can be now customized
- smoother Interface
- iframe has been removed, full php integration
- easier to adjust the size using only the expose.html.php
- improved background color adjustments
- check_system.php script added for troublshooting
- supports SEF URL's (being re-worked currently, limited functionality)
- upload/add background image through Joomla backend

The small footprint of the Flash clips and an intelligent loading of resources allow even dialup users to have a seamless experience viewing your photos. exposé is FREE for personal use.

The PHP Album Manager has very strict system requirements but is not needed to add new pics to you gallery (this is just another option if you have these extensions on your server). You can also install the Windows (or Mac) Album Manager found here: http://www.slooz.com/trinkets.php

After you have downloaded the Album Manager login to your server via FTP and change directory to [JoomlaRoot]/components/com_expose and copy down the expose folder to your desktop or anywhere you know where to access it at. Lastly, open your Newly installed Album Manager and it will ask you where you expose folder is, just point it to that folder and you can edit away.

After you are done when you close the album manager it will ask you if you would like to save your configurations, Click "YES" and then re-upload the folder and you are all set. Create a Joomla Menu pointing to that component and it will look awesome!

This component is a bridge to the Expose Gallery found here http://www.slooz.com This bridge is released as GNU/GPL but expose is under its original author's license agreement found here, http://slooz.com/trinkets.php?proj=expose If you have any questions please feel free to leave comments and/or suggestions in the forums listed below.

A god concept! by flightsimpsycho, January 14, 2008
A very good concept, the only thing that let me down was my server wasn't compatible.

I did like the component though and other users shouldn't shy away from giving it a try.

The software was un-installed clean.

Good Job!

Support for Joomla 1.5? by shantanubhadoria, January 5, 2008
I had to enable the Legacy mode plugin in Joomla 1.5 to make this work.
Is there a plan to fully support 1.5??
Otherwise a really wonderful component.
If the look of your site is your priority then this is probably the only gallery you should go in for.
Upload of files is mostly smooth. and the documentation is extensive.
The support for SEF is the icing on the cake now.
The only reason I don't give it an excellent is because I had to use legacy mode for installation on 1.5 .However I would still rate this as one of my favourite components in Joomla.

Wonderful by nathanglobal, January 2, 2008
This piece ist simply wonderful. I run it on 1.5 RC4 with no Problems. It is very adaptable with a lot of adjustments, maybe just too much. The Album Manager is powerful and easy to handle. Thank You very much!

Best way to show pictures by chrissingap, December 30, 2007
Expose Gallery is a great extension. It works easily and shows greatly the pictures and help a lot in the protection of those.

The support is great as well. Hopefully this component will be supported by SH404SEF soon. I hope the development will continue.

Thanks to the author(s).
Chris

Simple and elegant! by rohy, December 26, 2007
Simple to install. And the final look is amazing! More than what I asked for. I'm a fan of Expose :-)

Great Exension! by pixelgeeek, December 18, 2007
Easy to install... easy to configure... and even when I decided to dig down and tweak it a bit via the configurations page... it was easy enough to understand. Very flexible. Well done!

Best Bet for J FLASH Gallery by illlogical, December 18, 2007
I have used this component for client's projects and loved it with only one reservation. The album manager was not able to open on many server configurations. This necessitated a tough work around using a desktop app. THAT PROBLEM IS NOW SOLVED.

I have not every written a review here but I came specifically to say how much this component rocks!

Ultra-advanced, beautiful, powerful and better than many of the commercial options. Try this before shelling out money for a commercial flash gallery component.

AWESOME by Schwabenbauer, December 9, 2007
This is an excellent gallery. Installed with no problems. Read the manual for Security Issues. It looks GREAT in my website.

Great gallery by Tore W, December 6, 2007
I had no trouble installing and using Exposé on my system. WinXP with XAMPP for Windows Version 1.6.4

You can also use it from the front so that sitemembers can upload and manage galleries. BUT!! You have to rely on them not to change the password if you do this. I am no guru in flash or programming, so I have yet to find a way to remove the "change password" from the login. Anyone that knows how to do this is welcome to post it here. I will as soon as I find the solution, but have no time to search for it at the moment.

This is what You need :) by p.swinarski, November 5, 2007
hi,
This component is great:

I don't know why people say that it's not working with cyrylic's languages??
I've just downloaded additional files from http://slooz.com, translated xml file into Polish and that's it.
Check if You don't believe :P

The best by Seichinha, October 31, 2007
Just simply the best gallery component.
Easy installation and administration.
Thank you for this excellent tool.

Almost Perfect by Whiskey, October 25, 2007
Much better than the rest of the galleries that I tested for my need. Maybe I have over looked something but having some stats of views would be nice. A 3rd level of Sub categories would be good too. All an all a good product. Thanks for taking the time to develop it.

Very good! by Hogne, October 17, 2007
Very good, but I would really like a module that can display images from a category.

Also a plug-in, àla the Simple Image Gallery (Pro), so you can insert pics directly in a content article ( {gallery=whatever} ).

Great start!

Great product! by okiephil, September 18, 2007
If I can figure it out, anyone probably can. Installation was a snap, and it only took a little while to configure it to my site. Definitely one of my favorite joomla! add-ons.

A few minor flaws. Very good though. by D1NG0, September 7, 2007
For a free thing this works really well. Runs my flash video's with the On VP6 codec flawlessly. Blends into the site very well and even supports direct linking to your albums.

A few minor issue's however:
-Built in upload has a 2mb limit. This can bypassed easily though by using "bucket".
-Doesn't seem to see anything that isnt jpg. Maybe a bit more than minor

Major issue:
DOES NOT CACHE. That means everytime someone goes to your gallery it will download it all over again. Very big waste of bandwidth.
