Expose Flash Gallery
Exposé is a Flash-based tool which allows you to create eye-catching slide shows of your pictures on the web. A list of the features supported by exposé includes the following:

- direct linking to a photo or album
- a slide show can be automatically started
- a background/foreground image can be loaded
- more interface elements can be now customized
- smoother Interface
- iframe has been removed, full php integration
- easier to adjust the size using only the expose.html.php
- improved background color adjustments
- check_system.php script added for troublshooting
- supports SEF URL's (being re-worked currently, limited functionality)
- upload/add background image through Joomla backend

The small footprint of the Flash clips and an intelligent loading of resources allow even dialup users to have a seamless experience viewing your photos. exposé is FREE for personal use.

The PHP Album Manager has very strict system requirements but is not needed to add new pics to you gallery (this is just another option if you have these extensions on your server). You can also install the Windows (or Mac) Album Manager found here: http://www.slooz.com/trinkets.php

After you have downloaded the Album Manager login to your server via FTP and change directory to [JoomlaRoot]/components/com_expose and copy down the expose folder to your desktop or anywhere you know where to access it at. Lastly, open your Newly installed Album Manager and it will ask you where you expose folder is, just point it to that folder and you can edit away.

After you are done when you close the album manager it will ask you if you would like to save your configurations, Click "YES" and then re-upload the folder and you are all set. Create a Joomla Menu pointing to that component and it will look awesome!

This component is a bridge to the Expose Gallery found here http://www.slooz.com This bridge is released as GNU/GPL but expose is under its original author's license agreement found here, http://slooz.com/trinkets.php?proj=expose If you have any questions please feel free to leave comments and/or suggestions in the forums listed below.

The Best intergrated Flash Gallery I have Seen! by asiastar, January 9, 2007
I have been a Joomla User Since the begining and almost 2 years of mambo before that so I have seen just about all the galleries out there, My main sites have always been to display my photos so that was my key mission. Other than using created flash this is the only gallery that will allow you, users or your clients to create galleries and upload images. the gallery will even resize the images for you. I've talked to the orig developer Ivan Dramaliev when I was purchasing the stand alone version and he was the coolest scripter I've chatted with, he helped me customize the script and all. But Josh just made it all easier and he did it for free. Thanks Josh!!!

Superb In Every Aspect by Bluesyboy Jr, January 6, 2007

If you need a slick flash gallery, then stop searching. I have tried a lot of differnt plug-ins and NOTHING comes close to this. It has always looked very slick and professional, but now it functions every bit as good as it looks. It is a credit to the developers, both in terms of its function and that they still dont charge for non-commercial use. Absolutely wonderful. Thank-you.

best yet by evolveweb, January 6, 2007
I love the usability and overall look and design. Being flash based it is the best, and just makes it "rock" that much harder!
Im sure many of my sites are getting a much deserved upgarde with this componant...even better it saves me from using flash to put together good gallerys.

And may I say when it comes to joomla functionality nothing is better and more stable without the bugs that java bring with compatability issues

A Most Excellent Gallery... by ChaosKnign, January 4, 2007

When I was looking for a Gallery, none of the others caught my attention as to what I wanted on my site. The demo page certainly got my attention. True, it's a bit futzy with requirements and stuff, but what do you expect from something that looks and works this good?

Works fine if you're hosted of GoDaddy, even pretty easy to change background color and component size (instructions are in the forums). Even on my site that has three different languages, worked fine.

Definately something to have if your server meets the requirements, looks a treat!

Best Flash Gallery EVER! by ChevinBrown, December 27, 2006

This is by far the easiest, cleanest, and most fun gallery to use. The fact that is flash-based makes it superb. Two thumbs up!

Almost, but no cigar by pkeller, December 27, 2006
This gallery looks great and works well, with a clean, smooth user interface. It worked consistently on IE, Firefox and Safari, running smoothly even on a seven-year old iMac. But I was up against two problems:

- No multilingual support. There is a centralized "strings.xml" file that allows easy translation, but if I understood the discussions in the support forum correctly, you cannot switch languages dynamically, let alone use JoomFish to translate.

- In IE7, the gallery rendered in front of my drop-down menus, even though the mosLoadModules for the menus come later in index.php. I'm using swMenuFree, but I suspect it might happen with other drop-down menu extensions.

I also had some access-rights issues in the back end, but those appear to be fairly common, with lots of suggested fixes.

Great component by asgeirjj, December 5, 2006

Although the released versions backend doesn't work,
after checking out the support forum i got it to work.

The exclusive look and feel of this gallery is excellent,
it looks great!

This will grow into a superb gallery in a while, making
it look like an integrated part of my site is probably not
possible at the moment, but I'm sure it will get there. It does provide a lot of options for customizing, but sadly this is all text based at the moment.

Thank you very much Authors and other who contribute!

If you have problems, have a look at the following i cut from the forum:

"
First check if your system has the support to run the manager

Run
http://www.yoursite.com/components/com_expose/expose/manager/check_system.php

If all is ok there then..

Try to replace the manager with the standalone manager.

http://www.slooz.com/download.php?f=album_manager_php_1.02.zip

Delete com_expose/expose/manager folder
Unzip the content of the zip file to /com_expose/expose

If it still doesn't work try to create the .htaccess file.

Make sure you have the .htaccess in the com_expose/expose/manager/upload
with the following in it:

Code:
SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off
"

Woohoo! I think the backend got fixed!! by sjsorell, December 5, 2006
I've been using this component for about a year now using just the desktop Album Manager to upload my photos. It was a pain. Now it seems that the backend is working properly with the newest version! It's awesome! I love the ability to create thumbs so quick. The only prob is it seems that the front doesn't work when Search Engine Friendly URLs are enabled. np :)

PERFECT by Phoenix, November 18, 2006
Now the best picture galery got even better with the RC3 release. You now can link directly to albums or even photos. that's great :) I recommen it absolutely it's the best i ever seen and the support is great too, via forums or messenger :)
I don't know what to say else except continue like this :)

Nice - sadly I cannot use... by Mindwarp, November 13, 2006
I really like the look of this gallery. It is fast and smooth, and is one of the best looking galleries.

Installation is simple and as easy as any component.

Unfortunately, I cannot use it on my site as I do not have the extra stuff on my server to get the backend login to work, and I am not able to get it installed easily. At least I understand what my problem is though, and know it is not this component.

Despite the above, I hope it continues to be developed and maybe adapted to work with less server utilities installed?

Great way to present Flash videos. by wolfix, October 31, 2006
Very nice component... enables me to create an online, video gallery using flv, videos.

Professionally programmed allowing for the joomla admin to configure the public presentation to a large extent by editing a hand full of files.

Nice 'bucket' feature that allows for ftp upload of all images or videos so you're not limited to a "browse and upload" pop-up window. Once you've ftp'd all your images you use the back end to organize your photo/video album by tagging files directly on the web server using the 'bucket' directory.

Thanks!

Best Looking Gallery for Joomla by exhibitone, October 24, 2006
I've tried out most of the galleries available for joomla either as bridge or as a component (rsgallery2, gallery2, etc..) and this is by far the best looking gallery component out there. Will be using this for my art gallery's website henceforth!

Best Gallery EVER .. when it works by rjschad, October 22, 2006
This is the best gallery component offered for Joomla! It has a professional appearance and a great layout. Josh, the wizard behind this great tool, is a really nice guy who personally answers all the support questions in his forum .. even the many repeat questions.

Unfortunately, there is a backend login problem that many have experienced .. me included. But don't let this stop you from installing Expose .. give it a try .. and if the backend happens to work for you .. you'll love it!

Thanks Josh for all your work!

Good Component For Viewing Images by kazisdaman, October 5, 2006
I installed it on my server, and it worked just fine right out of the box.

Although I do not know if I'll use it, because there is no way to make the images SEO or searchable it is a great overall component. I can upload images, and it puts it in a nice slide show format, viewable, catagories and all.

I rated it a 4/5, due to there could be some more extra features as mentioned in earlier posts.

Overall its great, I still might use it :) lol.
