This extension is 1st rate.
It installed without error, very easy to configure. The back end is so slick and the front end has lots of templates to match your site.
I can't rate this high enough. I you are looking for a comment system for Joomla 1.5 look no further. |

This is a very nice system. I have some purchased comment systems that I used but wanted to see if anything else new was available.
After checking out the DEMO I wanted to give this application a test run and it works great! It also has lots of nice features.
The only CON is that after install and publishing, it wants to put articles in all side of your site. To fix you will need to go to each module you've custom created (which I don't understand why) and turn off mambots.
Once that's done your good to go. Great work team! |

This is a really nice comments option for us 1.5 users. The install and set up are very easy and the use of it is wonderful as well. I would like to see some more templates than the two it comes with. Also I believe there really needs to be an ordering option for the Read More link. Having it after all the buttons does not look right. It is too far from the article. Also being that it is written in French first, the english translations are a little rough in some places.
Other than that this is a wonderful addition to any site that gives it a much more professional look. Please keep up the good work! |

What I was looking for was simply a system to have articles rated and commented upon. mXcomment does that and much more (see the list of features), including keywords which can be used as tags and related items based on those. All in all mXcomment goes a long way to get from an amateur static site to an interactive professional site, and this without requiring any knowledge or understanding beyond knowing how to get around in the Joomla back-end. I am new to Joomla so don't rely on me for expert advice, but I can tell novices like myself that using mXcomment is really easy.
There are three things that would have made me deduct a star if the component had not been free (but then again, it is free!). 1) I really would have liked a tag cloud to go with the keywords functionality. 2) I don't like the word "favoured" very much, which is used for 'favourites'. 3) I had some trouble with the content pane spilling over on pages with two content columns (such as the blog and news section) plus right and left columns, but that depends on the sizing of the main template layout and the display. Anyway, I managed to solve it by playing with the templates and in doing so I found out that the author is well-willing and supportive.
I have not tried mXcomment's competition, but having mXcomment I really don't have any need to try anything else! |

But I struggle with my JA-news module. The headlines switcher appears blank after the first article has been shown. When I disable the MXcomment mambot, the problem solves.
Anyone, any idea?
The rest of it is brilliant, much better than AkoComment which was a nice, stable component as well. |

Decent extension except for the fact that it, by default, overrides the standard Joomla author, created, and modified. No way to simply make use of the comment feature.
Also, this extension blows out the side of my layout. I hack enough layout already.

Has way more features than I need but was very easily tweaked with it's own settings to my satisfaction.

I've been playing around with various comment modules/components for at least 3 days now and so far this is the best pick out for me. The key elements were obviously:
1. A clean commenting design
2. Options to specify automatic post approval
3. Security options i.e. captcha
4. Clean code that doesn't funk my site or articles!
This is a winner on all fronts and I highly recommend. GREAT Job to the developer, I love that there's 3 different template themes provided. By chance would it be possible to get the "bubble beige" template from the previous AkoComment? :) |

It looks nice at the backend. And probably works nice with 1.0, but it is not working on the frontend with joomla 1.5 RC1. I get white screens. And the error message I get is that it is looking for some mambottable, which is not included in my database. |
