 Many content effects use different types of frameworks or JavaScripts, making it probable that these interfere and create issues. The idea of MooBot is to be a platform to combine content effects like Tabs, Sliding Contents, Kwicks and others into one mambot that uses one single JavaScript framework. MooBot uses the mooTools Framework for all its effects and offers Joomla! content tags that will get replaced by the respective effect code by MooBot on preparation of the content. So for example: {tabs} {tab=My first Tab} Here is my first tab content. {/tab} {tab=My second Tab} Here is my second tab content. {/tab} {/tabs} Will create a tabbed container with 2 tabs and its associated content when entered into the Intro-Text or Full-Text of any content item.
MooBot also does interactive tables: Turn any HTML Table into a sortable and scrollable table, just like in an spreadsheet application.
MooBot now also does Charts: Turn any HTML Table into a Chart and control its layout with flexible options.
MooBot uses plugins, so it is extensible over additional effects. MooBot also allows to develop your own plugins, see the documentation for more on that. For a more complete feature description of MooBot and its current set of effect plugins see the Homepage.

Very easy to install & use. Though I am still waiting for a plugin that does the same in the unobtrusive way, one time or another., I am pleased for now.
I installed the CC license version and it works smoothly.
Even more, though I only use the CC, I got some good answers on a slight problem!! (Was not solved, but probably the problem lies at Joomla or an wysiwyg editor itself)...
Also great is that you can use the in J1.5 already integrated mootools basic library!! (Performance!) Then, only the extra js packages you need are added to the page. |

I originally had some trouble with this - using it for accordions in some content items.
There was a misspelling of a class in the accordion.xml file (toggler spelled "toogler"). Once I fixed that, this thing has worked a charm. This is not a component for beginners - you need to know a little js, css, and html before you can take advantage of it.
Very happy with it! Definitely needs some polish, but an excellent component. |

A great set of tools here, simple installation, logical use, easy configuration, great effects without impairing the use of other extensions. Nice selection of Moo.Effects, very well implemented.

I truly like the idea of this thing but there is absolutely no documentation whatsoever; none on the joomlacode pages or on the developers website. So unless you intend to "wing it" and are skilled enough to do so, don't bother wasting your time with this one.
I would give this a five star rating if not for this one glaring problem. Owner's reply: The Wiki on the Projects Homepage carries the link to detailed documentation.

Well done little set of eye candy. If your looking to spruce up your website with some little tidbits then this is a great helper!!! Once you have your Joomla powered site set up, use these in your content to customize and enhance your entries. Great for fitting lots of content in to small spaces! I especially appreciate the well documented access to the css files for even more customization. Thanks!! |
