This mambot enhances your links to external sites, by including Google Analytics tracking code for outgoing links. Another option is to add an Wikipedia-style image. Currently the following options are availible:
* Add Google Analytics tracking code for outgoing links, making outgoing links visible in Google Analytics.
* Add an image after the content of the link, making outgoing links more visible to users.
* Set the default target attribute for outgoing links.
* Add the title attribute, either containing the content of the link or the HTML title of the remote document.
* Add the general Google Analytics code. Can be used if the code is not already added by another mambot.

Changelog for version 0.1.1
* Fixed minor typos.
* Added check to exclude named anchors from processing.

PERFECT for Analytics tracking of ourbound links! by jackbremer, March 10, 2008
Well, I needed to teach a client how to put outbound tracking on their links, stumbled across this and my instructions were then "it's done - it's automatic now!"

This plugin adds the appropriate javascript outgoing/www.URL analytics tag to your outgoing links, while cleverly leaving your internal ones intact.

The external link image indicator seemed to have a border around it when I tried it, but I'm sure you could configure this in the CSS, or have the image borders set to zero by default on your site without too much trouble.

I would like to see configuration available for automatic internal file links, such as making internal PDF links tag with pdf/filename.pdf or similar.

FYI, if you use JCE Editor (as anyone with half a brain would ;) then you will find that links are set by default to open in the same window. This overrides the setting this plugin uses to make external links open in a new window by default, so bear in mind that JCE users will not benefit from that feature.

Using a CSS class would extend the possibilities by mymykry, November 8, 2007
The plugin (mambot) works fine, but seems to ignore links with a line break inside the anchor-tags.

Instead of adding an IMG tag to every external link, I would prefer the option to automatically assign a CSS class to external links. This would allow other decoration for external links, e.g. a different text colour, and images could be assigned this way as well. (I think it would be best to offer both options, the "hard" insertion of an image, and/or adding a CSS class.)

Nice! Works. Author responsive to suggestions. by tayhow, September 27, 2007
Excellent work backed up by an interested and responsive author.

Does what it says in the description. Just what I needed.

Note - this is a mambot, not a module.

Easy to install & configure. Great for news websites with lots of external links, which you may wish to track with Google Analytics. Has some handy extra options, such as setting external links default to new window, and a small image automatically added to external links to draw attention to them.
