Welcome to ArtForms, a Joomla's forms component!

The ArtForms component is a package for an easy From Generator for Joomla 1.0.xx.
It allows you to generate as much Forms as you like, you can define all fields
that you need and also make file upload and attachment possible.
The idea of the ArtForms is to give a tool that is enabling you to create a
dynamic forms in minutes within your Joomla! CMS.

The key features are:
* Possibility for create an unlimited amount of forms with unlimited fields and contents.
* Possibility to edit component's css, language, settings and update easy from old versions.
* Optional you can save all recived forms in database.
* Custom Lay-out for every field.
* View recived forms in FrontEnd.

* Newsletter Bridge (only Letterman for now).
* Database Backups and easy updates from previous versions.

Introduction
------------------
The ArtForms 2.1 project is a so called JArtForms and with this maintained by InterJoomla.
You can find the project homepage, forum and all additional information at http://jartforms.interjoomla.com.ar/ or in the Joomla! developer forge at http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/jartforms/.

Languages
---------------
In version 2.1 b7.1 you get spanish, english, german, hungarian, dutch, turkish, brazilian portuguese, italian, and french languages files. Polish too but incomplete with some texts in english yet.
Please, if you can translate this or make a new language translation send me a copy to integrate your language into official package.

IMPORTANT!
----------------
- ArtForms uses Joomla's mail settings!!! check if that has been setted
correctly!
- Be carefull, this new beta have a new lay-out feature, check the fields' layout of your existant forms.
- For make menus you MUST download ArtFormsMenu-j10-2.1.b7-english.zip at joomlacode (spanish available also). If not you only can made url links.
- Update-Package is only for update files with a ftp client, then you need go to update task and perform updates for your last ArtForms version (make a backup before that).
- Added FCKEditor Frontend support (of course you need to have installed it).
- When you update from old versions please don't forget to perform updates and check settings!
- Frontend Recived Forms was disabled by default, if you need that please check settings. If you need to create a menu use URL option and write one of these:
" /index.php?option=com_artforms&task=ferforms " or
" /index.php?option=com_artforms&task=tferforms " .
For include only one form add `&viewform=1` (where 1 it's the form that you only needs to show) Example:
" /index.php?option=com_artforms&task=ferforms&viewform=1 " or
" /index.php?option=com_artforms&task=tferforms&viewform=1 " .

In a few days more (I guess) I will release a new version bugs fixed, and right now I'm working in the 3.0 version of ArtForms developed in the new Joomla's MVC framework.

Where have you been all those hours I have slaved over other extensions and form creation widgets BRAVO! Would pay a small amount (say US $25) for this happily... beats the one I DID pay for by MILES and saved me hours and hours just today!!

I absolutely love this form program, the best I have used, and I have tried them all. The ease of the Artform was astonishing! No jumping through code to make a form, its outstanding!!!

The only issue I have, however minor it may be, but I did have to upload the program by using my FTP. I had to upload the main file (unziped) to my tmp directory then go back to Joomla backend manager and install from there. For some novice users, which I am, it took me a couple of minutes. I also would like to see them create a way to have the forms that were submitted by site surfers, to get posted directly to either a joomla article or atleast have the option to go to an external site.

Other than those two minor issues, this Form creator is the absolute BEST, hands down!!! Thanks for making such an easy Form Creator!

Way better than other forms we've tried.

We designed in minutes a form with input fields, text fields, check boxes, and drop down lists. With the option to send a copy to the client once submitted.

The only thing it doesn't have is radio buttons, but you get around it by using the drop down list.

I would like to be able to include a miniform in other pages. I haven't found a way yet, we're using a Plug in called "Include Content Item" by kksou, we'll see.

Very nice indeed, easy to setup and use,
Very clean interface on the front end as well.

Lots of options and looks pretty secure as well.
Tried many forms but this is by far my favorite !

Have been using ArtForms with some 1.0.x sites and it was great - the version for 1.5.x seems to crash when settings are changed ... and the developer's site has disappeared.

Please reinstate what is an excellent component.

I have long sought an effective system of form and I finally found. Be careful not to activate the Ajax otherwise you will not be able to create forms, for the moment it does not work.

Works flawlessly and creating new Forms is really easy.

Though, I'd like to have some more features, e.g. more advanced style control in "HTMLText" boxes and the availability for disabling certain forms when other forms are checked/filled out. (E.g. for creating surveys)

I recommend this!

I have installed this on two websites, one running joomla.1.0
which worked great, could not get a better forms component.

I aslo installed it on a joomla 1.5.3 site on install and I found it had a few language error and I cannot get in to the settings page to configure it. think it may need a bit more work yet,

With this component, I REALLY was be able to create a form in Joomla, with text, validations, and dropdown, without a line of code, and all from the Joomla admin panel.

This is a brilliant well though-out component. What has impressed me has been the little details that have been thought out. The forms are look good right out the box and with a little css they look even better. Some documentation would be good as I could not find any any. That said the interface is pretty intuitive. I would also suggest that you download the ArtFormsPlus module. The highslide integration into both the form component and the module is excellent. Just installed this component. I haven't tested it intensely but so far I must say that I really like this component. Creating forms is very easy now and the output on the frontend is amazing. It looks just great.
It also has a lot of cool feature and enables upload files.
This component is a must for Joomla 1.5 users.
Keep up the good work, I'm waiting impatiently for the stable version and hope it comes soon.

Installation

When I installed the zip from my pc it timed out with a blank page, however it did install. I uninstalled it due to fear of an incomplete install. Re-installed via directory on the server; the only errors I got were language file errors.

Configuration

It seems to be a known bug that if you tinker with some of the items in the Configuration, it will break the entire Component and you will have to re-install. I tried to change the image used to signify 'required fields' and it broke the whole Component. I don't want to spend hours building a form and tinkering with the css to suddenly have it break and risk loosing everything.

Look and feel of front end

It is my opinion that their is too much customization to the form fields; text is too small, unnecessary back ground gradient images, etc,.

Unable to put a text sub-heading in the middle of a form to signify different sections.

I think this Component has a lot of potential, however, it's just not keeping up with Joomla versions as of Joomla 1.5.3.

Very nice Forms-module. Sadly the popularity of this module grows beyond the limits of their site: It is shut down due to exceeded bandwith limits....

Although the module works most of the time; sometimes an php error is shown (Joomla 1.5x) but not in places where it hurts.
I've some issues with the language file (Dutch is present; but not selectable or functional) but there's the bugreporting tool for...

Despite of mentioned drawbacks; I'll recommend this one!
