Nice editor but useless without readon by PeteRock, September 13, 2008

Its really a good editor. Has everything one needs for comfy working with only a few bugs.
If the readon-button would work in IE it would be some usefull tool..
When you hit readon in IE there is just an tag added without any functionality. :(
If you use the default Picture-button below the textfield in IE the picture is not displayed because of a missing leading / . With TinyMCE (default editor) the leading / seems not needed which I dont understand tbh.
I hope for a next release where these things are fixed. :)

Love the Template feature! by donmarvin, July 3, 2008

I installed this because I needed a preconfigured content item for the user. This is fantastic! It lets you create 3 different templates that the user can insert into their content.
Lets you set up your own custom toolbar also, which is great because then your toolbar isn't cluttered with icons you never use. Some of the icons I need are on the "advanced" version of other editors, which gives me way more than I need.

The best free WYSIWYG editor for Joomla! by baijianpeng, July 2, 2008

why don't you Joomla! project team guys put this editor as the built-in default editor for Joomla! ?
This is the best free editor plugin I had ever met. It allows you easily upload image and insert it into the article, you can also link some text to an existing article by several clicks, you even can insert Flash moives easily!
I can't love it more! Just hope this will be part of the Joomla! Core code.
Thousands of Thanks to the authors.

Doesn't work & uninstall problems by georgejc, June 26, 2008

I was setting up a fresh Joomla-1.5.3 website when I needed a better editor. After reading the reviews, I decide to try out JCK.
When I tried to use it, I received "Fatal error: Call to a member function update() on a non-object in libraries/joomla/html/editor.php on line 198" message on every page that I tried to edit.
I looked around for fixes, but none worked. After a while of trying to get it working, I decided to uninstall it. But that failed too. So, I had to manually delete the files, then manually delete the the reference to JCK in the MySQL tables.
Disappointing. Owner's reply: This is fixed in the new 1.1.4 version. The wrong zip got uploaded for the Joomla 1.5.x version and caused these issues.

Problem with images by jbudd, May 21, 2008
|
JCK is inconsistent with the default editor and JCE in the way it stores the path for images.
JCE defines an image as src=images/stories/fruit/strawberry.jpg
JCK defines it as src=sitename/stories/fruit/strawberry.jpg
While it still shows up on the site this causes an error with mambots such as multithumb failing to find sitename/sitename/images/stories/fruit/strawberry.jpg Owner's reply: This is fixed in the Joomla 1.5.x version, and will be fixed in the next release of the Joomla 1.0.x version.

This is a great editor by jdlmarsh, April 6, 2008

Just wanted to say thanks.
JCK is a great piece of work. I've been using Mambo/Joomla! for years and until a few days ago haven't found anything to beat mosCE, mainly because (1) it works and (2) none of the other editors had a decent (and free) Image Manager. I even went to the lengths of hacking mosCE final to work with the more recent versions of Joomla! (which was quite easy, to be honest). But I must say my immediate impression of JCK is that it's excellent and I'm planning on switching over to it for both frontend and backend use. I have a current project requirement for frontend users to have their own image (and file/flash/media) folders kept separate from both each other and also the overall site, and the JCK implementation is so clean that I was able to get this working by editing just two PHP files in a relatively simple fashion (the Image Manager's config.inc.php and the File Manager connector's config.php) to use $my->id as a suffix for the folder names.

Best among the editors. I've tried many editors, and this one had least amount bugs. And it was easy to hack to make it work with Gallery2.

Great addon... by sweetspot, January 17, 2008

Excellent and I think this should be on every Joomla site.
***one problem is that on a mac and using firefox it does not copt the the format from the word doc and then take your template css and modify for you. It treats it as plain text.
But besides that AWESOME.......

Good development, but need a little request here. by zuhairi, December 9, 2007

I'm trying to edit ImageManager config.inc.php but find a difficulties because I'm not familiar with the code. I wish for the next release, ImageManager can defined each user for different folders. For example my client username is zack, then in img file path auto create a folder named 'zack' which he only can access the folder to upload, add, and delete files. Its also happen to other users. This will help when different users who need their privacy to access their own image and feel free to edit it.
However this JoomlaFCK2 is really great, I would like to recommend it to all joomla users especially for newbies :)

This is an awesome editor! Makes TinyMCE look incredibly basic. Well done developers. Love the 'Aluminium' theme too!

doesn't work on at 2 hosts by bzsolt, November 9, 2007

I installed JFCK2 on UKWSD and Heart Internet webhosts. At UKWSD I couldn't save/close the article, at Heart Internet the editor didn't even load.

You saved my life! by pattyb, November 2, 2007

Well, OK, not really. But no matter what I tried with the TineMCE editor allowed a dark blue background color to bleed through and I couldn't see the text I needed to update. Even editing the CSS didn't help. I'm fine with code view, but I need to train my client to update their website. They could have never done it without joomlafck2!

Great work on this! I have been a huge fan of the FCK Editor for over a year now, and have several Joomla sites running it.
Just glad someone has stepped up to release an excellent working version.
I tested this on a subfolder site that made the 'other' FCK editor none too happy. I had to search the joomla forums to refresh my memory of what file needed tweaking to get the old one to work...
But not with Joomla FCK 2!!! GREAT JOB!
Also the added parameters in the plugin admin area are excellent and much needed!
Again AWESOME JOB! And thanks!
Now off to install this on 12 more sites!
My customers will be pleased!

Best Of The Simple Editors by Tim_Olaguna, October 20, 2007

This is the best of what I would call the simple editors. It offers a wider range of fonts and font sizes for a writer to choose from than TinyMCE, joomlaFCK, or JoomlaTinyFCK. And the graphics management tools are good. A good alternative to JCE, which is more full-featured.
